Great video. I would suggest changing the printer nozzle to a bigger one in order to print faster. 0.8 or even 1mm achieves enought details for most household itens and you can print 5-10x faster than a standard 0.4mm nozle. That way you are not stuck with a 2h+ print consuming most of your work time

Seeing how you were moving your cart, I thought of the front end of a little red wagon. Both wheels are tied together with a handle you pull. So, when you pull left, the wheels turn left, etc. Seems like you are expending a ton of energy controlling the big cart. Oh, yeah, the video is GREAT. Another creative video. No one else goes out to do public fixes. Inspiring. Fun. It seems people are surprised when someone helps them for free. I wonder why?

I have some casters on one of my extra heavy carts that have two swivel ones and two that can swivel or lock in 90° orientations. Best of both worlds.

Love this series! One suggestion i would make however is to switch to a 0.6mm nozzle if you are not using one already! With the variable line width changes in the newer versions of cura and prusha slicer a 0.6mm nozzle has very little drawbacks now and can speed up your prints dramatically!

Suggestion : There's a easy way to build a moving table, keep front wheel fixed and add a liver the trun the back wheel or else vise versa. You can even add a bicycle at one end and you can ride the whole table with bicycle

Really amazing work. Not only with the mobile printer and solar idea (which is awesome!). But with this set of repairs that were really quite challenging. This is why I can't live without 3d printing. So much of the consumer world around is made up of plastic bits designed to break (to force you to buy a new one, or buy an expensive repair part). You could actually attach 2 caster wheels to a hinged plank. If you have a lever that brings the plank parallel to the ground the caster will behave normally, but if the plank is angled the casters settle into a locked state where they cannot freely rotate. If you add that feature, you could get the best of both worlds. It would be stable as a cart and have the freedom of movement of wheeled furniture.

Btw, I see how much you struggle with the casters... perhaps you can build a simple mechanism that drops down from 2 corners of the table & locks those wheels so they can't turn. you can add a tiltable u-shape 3d printed piece to wheels for locking and unlocking the rotation. Like from Spain PD: Foldable sun roof that can be folded inside the frontal "free repairs" signal, it allows you to be at sun without moving table or panels or getting toasted

You could weld some bits of metal that will allow you do put a locking pin in one or two of the wheel(s). You could remove the pin when you need more manoeuvring, and put it back for mode normal travel.

@Morley Kert suggestion on the first one to avoid support. Rather than having a roof with a hole which needs support make the roof solid for one layer so it can bridge. Then instead of support you only have to clean one layer of the hole and not all the support.

It seems like with the first model, you may have been able to print it upside down, with a larger brim to hold the print down and then avoided support materials all together. Like you I am not a huge fan of support materials, so I will go out of my way to discover new ways of printing things to avoid them... If you have internal structurers with overhangs, you can use fillet or chamfer to gradually build out to them on the inside structures.

I actually have a print going outdoors right now! It’s about 10 degrees Celsius, and the print came out great. It’s a fully enclosed printer with a heated bed, which I think is necessary for printing in temperatures like this.

Is there a cavity on the underside of the table that you can maybe 3d print some sort of basket situation for your solar to have maybe a padded enclosure that isnt open to public eye when not in use...

Yes, having two non-swiveling wheels are a much better idea. A lot less chance of a tip-over. It's just like in the super-market where the carts with all four wheels that swivel are so much harder to maneuver than the ones with non-swivel wheels in the front.

im printing off grid since i have the creality sonic pad. resum printing is a charm. no mater what i can keep printeng eaven if the battery is empty the i switch to grid 😛but usually the battery is enought eaven for 40h prints.
