For those of you still having issues, try using a USB keyboard (wired or wireless). Completely power down your PS5 (not rest mode...press and hold the power button on the PS5 until u hear 2 beeps). Wait for the white light to stop blinking on the PS5 then power it back up with the keyboard connected. You should be able to navigate to Bluetooth settings with your keyboard to reconnect your controller. Press and hold the PS button AND the Share button on your controller to enter pairing mode and connect to PS5.

Yeah I was using it on Steam Pc. It worked pretty good on Steam but freaked me out when PS5 didn't reconnect. Original cable worked because at first I just got a random C cable (probably just for charging but not data) and freaked myself out more. Finally got there, thank you.

It's a long shot but if you still own the manual for your controller maybe give it a scan and see how you'd go about resyncing it. Hopefully any of those methods work for you.

So my ps5 controller will turn on the ps5 and work for 10 seconds. Then stop working, even connected with wire! The controller will only turn the ps5 on while wireless. But it stops working after 10 seconds. The only way I get it to work is to use the controller to turn it on put my pin in then when the controller stop working. I use a keyboard to go turn off the bluetooth and then plug into controller with the wire and it then works like nothing is wrong till as long as it is wired.

Hahahaha, funny story, I was having trouble logging in so I came to this video for help. Tried everything he said to do and I was getting nervous because it's a new ps5 and controller but wasn't logging in for some reason. It would start up but when it came to signing in my profile it just tells me to press the ps5 button again. After a while I realised I had been playing Nintendo switch the night before and the select button is "a" for switch, which is circle "O" for ps5. I was cancelling my own sign in.

I found that when your ps5 is off hold the power button down the console itself until you get to safe mode and it will recognize the controller. Then just choose the option to restart your ps5 and it works

Okay. What I had to do was connect a keyboard to my playstation and use that to navigate to the accessories tab. Go to controller settings and with your controller plugged in, switch the communication method to wired and turn the controller on. If it connects, then use the controller to switch the method back to bluetooth. This will turn the controller off. Turn the controller back on and then it should reconnect through bluetooth like normal.

I forgot my ps5 controller in a friends house (who lives in another state) but I have two of them. So I tried to use that one.
