B: 그럼 어쩌라고? "야, 나 해외에 좋은 기회 생겼어. 그동안 즐거웠어. 안녕!" 이래?

예문내용과 좀 동떨어진 것 같지만 어쩌라고의 비꼬는 듯한 어감을 보니 한번쯤 만들어보고 싶었던 문장이 떠올라서... When you're working at a convenience store, there is alway this person once in a while. 편의점에서 일하다보면 가끔가다 이런 사람 꼭 있어. You ask them if they need a plastic bag, very casually, and that person ask you back like-"Then what am I supposed to do? Hold all these in my hands?" 별 생각 없이 비닐봉투 필요하냐고 물어보면 "그럼 뭐, 이걸 다 들고가요?" 하는 사람... 써놓고 보니 그냥 or what? 정도가 더 어울리나 싶네요... 대명사 쓰는것도 한참 고민하게 되고... 영작을 하다보면 오늘 예문 두번째 문장 and that-처럼 가볍고 적당하게 문장을 덧붙여서 이어가고 싶은데 so, because, when, but 처럼 문장을 크게 나눠버리는 굵직한 놈들만 반복해서 단조로운 문장을 만들게 되는 것 같아요. 눈에 보일 때마다 익혀두려고는 하는데 검색도 잘 안되고 쉽지가 않네요.

여러가지 방법이 있겠지만, 저 같으면 아래와 같이 말하겠습니다. 편의점에서 일하다보면 가끔가다 이런 사람 꼭 있어. -When you're working at a convenience store, there is always this person once in a while. 한가지만 질문드리면 저 두번째 부분에서 them을 him으로 고쳐주셨는데 them이 좀 어색한가요? 사실 제일 많이 썼다 고쳤다한게 저부분이었어요. the person을 자꾸 쓰려니 너무 반복같고 딱히 정해진 누군가가 아니라 him/her을 써도 되나 싶어서 그런 부류의 사람들이니 them으로 하자!... 했는데 단수였던걸 복수로 받자니 좀 이상한가 싶긴 했어요. 한국어에서는 그냥 생략하면 되는데 영어에서는 안되니 정해지지 않은 일반적인 대상에 대해서 말할때 항상 머리가 복잡해지네요.

@@골드키위-p1v 전혀 어색하지 안습니다. 사실 일상 대화에서는 them이 더 자연스럽습니다. 제가 him으로 바꾼것은 him으로도 쓸수 있다있다는것 보여드리고 싶어서 한것이고, 더 좋아서 한것은 아닙니다. 그리고 그 다음 문장에 he shoots back, that person shoots back 이라고 할때 him하고 더 맞기 때문인고요. 하지만 대화에서는 문제가 되지 않습니다. 실제로 원어민들도 님께서 쓴대로 conversation을 자연스래 합니다.

여자가 남자한테 말할때 okay man 이라고 하는 사람도 있습니다, 성격이 좀 식식하신 여성이면. 여자가/남자가 여자한테 말할땐 man 대신 보통 girl을 대부분 씁니다. Okay girl, you got it...처럼. 조심해야 할것은 나이든 여성을 girl이라고 하긴 상황에 따라 어울리지 안을수 있으니 기억하세요.
