*"How can anyone think this clown is telling the truth."* Yeonmi is a paid, celebrity "witness." The Diplomat did a write up of her about how her stories do not line up, and they have the receipts. It’s is fabricated, unfortunately. I know that perspective is difficult and unfair, it seems, but that’s the point of such a story perfectly tuned over time to appeal to your emotions. If you need more proof look at the Greyzone video with Max Blumenthal, and another further report he did previously. There is a literal TV program in South Korea where North Korean defectors compete with their lavishly embellished escape stories to win.. it’s a game show. Yeonmi Park has personally made almost $1,000,000 telling her story. Her story changes massively. One of the most crucial changes in her story from the initial tv interview is that her father was initially with her when she left N.K.. later she said it was only her mom that was with her, in order to weave in the part where her mom is raped to save her from that assault- a much more heart-wrenching progression. Says she was poor but slips up by saying she grew up with her mum having chanel handbags🥴....how can anyone think this clown is telling the truth. Anything she says is suspect, as she could easily be grifting Rightwing media. The story is she stole other defectors stories. She was a high ranking person in DPRK (according to one version they claimed) and did escape (probably through bribes). She steals other people’s stories to make her story sound more sensational. you will always see someone trying to be over dramatic and get attention and fame by making the story 100 times worst. Did she go through horrible things? We don't know. Did she use other peoples stories and exploit them as her own? Yes, 100 percent. She's definitely from North Korea and she definitely "escaped" but I'm pretty sure she's laying the story on thick because her whole career depends on it. It's her livelihood. She's Korean Elizabeth Holmes. She arrived here in South Korea and used the refugee system in every way, got free education, numerous plastic surgeries including breast implants, appeared on TV to find a rich man, failed, then rehearsed years for the show targeting foreign countries. They never escaped to Mongolia. Her mother never raped, and they were never kidnapped/captured as sex-slaves! And her father never was or died in China! The whole story/ her book is pure fabrication. I can document it! But I am not aware of their real life/ story! I just know that they are lying! She lied about her father's death, and got exposed by North Korean government, so she had to admit it (in silence! few people were paying attention to it). Here you go : "But North Korean government came after me and described me that I didn't suffering in North Korea and also they said that my father died in North Korea not in China, and they say that I was an very ambitious girl because he gripping ambitious extremely bad thing and they say you are an ambitious girl, and your father was a bad person, and your mom was immoral person...........But they didn't really come up with a like big thing *except my father died in North Korea* and my father's ashes were in China, and my mother went to China a few months ago and brought my father's ashes to South Korea." "Yeon Mi Park is especially interesting because she's literally on video talking when she first came to South Korea and went "off script" talking shit about the other defectors, calling them liars and saying that their stories are made up and she never ever saw events or poverty like they claimed in North Korea, she also claimed in earlier videos that North Korea was poor due to sabotage and sanctions and the west needs to trade with North Korea if they really want to help the people. Then suddenly hired by Atlas Network, $45,000 speaking fees and she's seeing rivers full of dead bodies and people eating babies. She's the defector where it's pretty much 100% proven she's reading from a script written by far-right think tanks due to how inconsistent her stories are and her rapid change from pro-trade and anti-sanction and anti-intervention, to pro-sanctions and pro-intervention literally the second she gets hired by Atlas." Yeon Mi Park is absolutely 100% full of fucking shit. She was a fucking Princessling from Pyongyang living the high life and then when her father got in shit they hopped ship to China. This girl had changed her story so many times it obvious that she lied. It's absolutely embellished with lies. The shite she spews out on her YT channel does not make sense. Her appeasement of such right wing political groups / think tanks ( Atlas NetWork, Human Rights Fundation, Freedom Factory, Oslo Freedom Forum has led to inconsistencies in her stories. They have created/promoted her, and she is pai by them. *She does it for money and fame, they do it because they have an anti DPRK POLITICAL AGENDA!* As an example, in her 2014 speech, she talks about how brutal life was for her and for North Koreans, but an interview in 2013 shows that she was actually one of the wealthy elites: “Buried in the shows archives are some snapshots of Park’s childhood in North Korea that explain why she’s known on the show as the Paris Hilton of North Korea. They’re in sharp contrast to the story she’s now telling her international audience. In one episode in early 2013 she appears with her mother. Family photographs are flashed on the screen and Park jokes, “That’s my Mum there. She’s beautiful right? To be honest, I’m not the Paris Hilton. My mum is the real Paris Hilton.” Park then goes on to point out the top and chequered pants her mother is wearing “were all imported from Japan” and adds, “My mum even carried around a Chanel bag in North Korea,” to which the host responds incredulously, “There are Chanel bags in North Korea?” Park tells him there are and he then asks another woman if she’d classify Park’s family as “rich.” The woman answers, “Yes, that’s right.”

*The market is huge for stories about NK that fit a certain narrative pushed by the imperialists* She seems compromised…… a CIA asset? She’s playing the game quite well. If you’re a minority who looks conventionally attractive and says the same talking points, the GOP and institutional right will hire them on the spot. There's an article about her from 2014 about her contradictions on the diplomat. Now the excuse made then was, Her language barrier with english. The problem with that statement is she told the same lies in Korean on South Korean TV which baffled the host of the show. The best part is she did a full 180 and when investigated, her real story came out. On a South Korean TV show Park Yeonmi told the audience that her family was doing extremely well and that her mother was wearing pants that ‘were all imported from Japan’ and added, ‘My mum even carried around a Chanel bag in North Korea.’ They didn't ask her to play any role, that's why it was a shocker to the South Korean public, She did a 180 on what they expected. They never propped her up to be privileged, that crap came out of her mouth after she became famous. So doing a 180 and asking your mom on networked TV "Am I really North Korean, these other people seem poor"!!! *But after she started being coached by a Seoul-based American anti-DPRK think tank Freedom Factory along with other right wing/pro imperialist Think Tanks / NGO's (Atlas Network, Oslo Freedom Forum, Human Right Fundation, etc) who hired/paid/taught her what kind of horror stories she should tell about the DPRK, her narrative completely changed.* That’s when she started claiming she was so poor that she had to survive eating grass, that she saw dead bodies floating in North Korean rivers (where she previously said to have had fun together with her friends), promoting how she was starved while saying she never was poor? and other gibberish. The host lost his composure and looked confused AF. Then having her mom says "oh those stories of her eating grass ect that never happened." HuH??? was the whole crowd, audience and hosts. She then became the media darling for several years and her new narrative turned out to be very lucrative for her. I also noticed that she talks a lot of crap about South Korea and says that she moved to America because they were oppressing her there. I think they were just catching on to her BS and she had to try lower hanging fruit - To be fair a lot of defectors struggle in South Korea due to discrimination, economic and social problems, etc. a fair amount even want to return to North Korea, and some have. However, I highly doubt Yeonmi faced anything remotely oppressive in South Korea, being a rich girl funded by every alphabet agency in America. It’s likelier that she said something stupid, the South Korean media picked up on it, called her out on her bullshit, and asked her who her CIA handlers are South Korea tends to be sympathetic towards North Korean defectors, especially if they are ardently anti-North Korea. However, Yeonmi’s story is so full of holes that the South Koreans do not take her seriously, nor do they respect her. *All she seems to do is make up grandiose stories to get more clickbait, and to promote a neocon agenda,* rather than actually helping North Korean refugees. Other defectors want nothing to do with her, and she has been reduced to making all of her content in English because she knows that no Koreans will ever take her seriously again, and that only Americans will believe anything she says (much like they believed Saddam ground people into burgers with a meat grinder and had nukes pointed at America). The money is to good to pass up, even if that means lying and embellishments. She is not the first to sell out, but so much was learned from watching her blatantly lie and try to cry without crying throughout the whole show. In a way it's good to have a liar on record when she gets exposed again.

People who “visit” North Korea are assigned handlers and everything they see and do are carefully controlled and planned out. You see what they want you to see. I can’t believe some kid thought her account was inaccurate 🙄 I’ve read her book, and the books of other defectors, and I can tell you, her experience is the norm in that country. Starvation and mind control. So incredibly sad!

Evidently, this young adult man failed to view 60 Minutes, AU which was posted on KZbin all about how a resporter "visted" North Korea and was also assigneda handler and he reported how every second of his time there was controlled, what he saw and where he went and he even has to get "permission" to do a morning jog ( with guards accompanying him, of course). He made it obvious that the entire "visit" was scripted to give him this quite false impression of how wonderful, rich, well fed and educated where the youth. So, yes! this man needs to do much more research before stating that Ms. Park's account was inaccurate.

@tiffanieqaisar46323 жыл бұрын
You are valuable to the world. There's a reason for everything. We go thru many chapters and paths in life that change us as we move forward. You are worth something because you see the value in Yeonmi. She is like a fallen angel made to bring us light and love. We must love ourselves and we must love others as if they are a family member. Happiness and peace is shared. Shangri-la exists on any space, it is your mental perception our individual reality is what truly affects us. We are not built as humans to be animals because we have the ability to use critical thinking. So perhaps in this season you are not earning but there will come a day that you will have to take a different action. There is nothing unusual about this. You hold thd key to your destiny and are only worthless if you allow yourself to believe it. And sadly others will treat you in many ways that will damage you if you allow it. You teach others everything about yourself in how you appear, speak, and relate with them. You can redefine yourself in the next breath, but its up to you to decide what you think you deserve. The poor never got rich by dwelling in their poverty. Hubris is the human beings ' biggest affliction. You Can only change your behavior and mindset. And you can be destroyed if you wait for others, so keep moving forward with a positive mindset and educate yourself take action when you feel its right. Love from Colorado USA 🇺🇸❤. Tiffanie Q

Seriously the United states and Russia caused it..it used to be one Korea..by china...they came in and "liberated " them which made a line down the country north/south. The south they helped and the north they left. .....that's why the "south" has electricity and better living. Vs what the north lives with. If countries would not have interfered it most likely would never been like this. THESE are human rights issues which deserve attention. Every time she speaks, perception better be changing for many. Not long ago I heard someone go on about the " horrible trauma" when someone used the pronoun 'her' rather than zee?, which is not even a real word. I deal with trauma of finding my husband's body, only to listen to our children sob for their dad as I watched my mother also die shortly after. This is trauma on a different level...longterm life-threatening horror, fighting to survive. We have to keep perspective. If we can even complain about our trauma over a nice, filling dinner, we are safe and fortunate.

Yeonmi is precious. True christian charity never requires anything of the person in need. This reminds me of a time I was promised a meal but I had to go to hear the preacher talk. He spoke words dishonoring the mother of Jesus. I walked out and left the meal behind.

She is a liar! A fake/fiction narrative! The whole story is made up! And as a bad liar she doesn't remember what lies are written in her own book, so she comes with new lies, and changes the details! 2 Examles : According to her own book, her father died in a early day january 2008, here 16:15 she says right before Beijing Olympic(August 2008)!! And again according to her own book, she and her mother worked as web cam (sexchat) in a chat room for some months, so she knew internet and used internet! But here 19:14 she says she learned internet when she came to South Korea! By the way , her father was not in China and never died in China, but died in North Korea!

She had plastic surgery and was privileged until her father got arrested. She has suffered a lot but other defectors like the one who was born in the labor camp suffered way more. However, I really hope they all make sure that their stories are as accurate as possible and consistent or else people will accuse them of lying. I know it can be hard to remember everything,especially when everything was so painful but if they want to raise awareness and speak for their countrymen then they had better be sure their stories are consistent and honest. Or else no one will believe them.

What a beautiful soul! It's sad that so many take for granted what she risked all to have. Astonishing that she risked all without knowing what the reward really was. If all people knew, in North Korea, knew what the difference was between their existence and our lives were, they would revolt. This is our danger, about power, rules absolutely! When we allow the government to rule our lives, we condem our decendents to be ruled.

I can not presume to know what would be the worst thing about living in North Korea, but for me freedom to choose and my individuality is everything. So to be forced to comply with something I would not agree to, such as rape, forced labor, military service or to grieve for a dictator, the fear of torture or punishment for daring to dream of better like a Orwellian 1984 would be the worst I could imagine. To live without the hope of true love, would be horrifying, for without true love, life has no meaning or value. So you ask what would be the worst part about living in North Korea. EVERYTHING! For if you do not have freedom to choose then you have NOTHING. Thanks Yeonmi Park for being brave enough to hope and share the truth with us, and the Foreign Correspondents Club, Hong Kong for supporting free speech. May you all have the freedom always to make your dreams come true.

I think the biggest problem with North Korea is that people, who lived when regime started, haven't stood up to it. And now their children and grandchildren suffer, because they've forgotten what freedom is. And "those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." It's the quote from Auschwitz - a painful memento of Polish regime but also a powerful warning. Until North Koreans are aware of the world and remember the freedom, the outside can't do much to help.

She works for The Atlas Network which is a Libertarian Think-Tank funded by the US State Department and corporate donors like Philip Morris, Koch, MasterCard, Exxon etc. Before she was famous in the US she was on a panel TV show in South Korea called 'I Am Now On My Way To Meet You' where her stories were entirely different. She was a child when she left and she was from a rich family. So most of these stories she can't even have conceived of. She's lying because her income relies on you maintaining interest and booking her for interviews again and again. Call her out.
