Dr.Griggs you have been so helpful for me while going through all this. 22 Months now cancer free and still I'm stressed at times over all the follow appointments. Sadly I now have a new oncologist on my VA team and it feels like I'm starting all over again. I'll manage though ..... The implications of skipping a particular treatment depend on the benefit associated with that treatment, which in turn depends on the risk of recurrence. In other words, if someone has a high risk of recurrence, the absolute benefit of treatment is greater and the downsides of skipping are greater. Conversely, if someone has a lower risk of recurrence, the benefits of treatment are lower, and the downside of skipping is lower.
