I've noticed that too. His ears aren't pinned as far back when it's a child that's closest to him. Probably because children are quite intuitive about body language and they aren't the ones routinely invading his boundaries.

People need to stop eye balling him. Horses HATE it when humans look them in the eye, especially a stranger! It literally means 'I'll challenge you'. As you may have notice, when he realises people have their back turned to him he stops, unless they eye balled him first. I worry about him, one day he'll get fed up and you know what they do to animals who get fed up. They don't go to counselling like humans do. Ormonde needs his one person to tell him it's okay.

I would consider these horses as we would seeing eye dogs or any other working dog, drug sniffers, etc. the public are not allowed to touch and pester these working dogs. And when it gets to the point of actual intentional pestering and laughing, which I have seen, I think it proper for the Guard to protect their horse and say, “ lay off now. You have pet him enough.” “Go away”.
