I was there. The best song of this 1998 NYC taping was left on the cutting room floor...and on my hidden cassette tape. "Heart of the Sunrise"... I felt the power of Chris' double Ampeg bass stack in the front/2nd row, standing about 15 feet away from him, pointed directly to the center where we were. It was absolutely glorious. I'll never forget it...they also improvised a bit of "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream, in between takes, to our amusement.

Was Hard Rock Live a weekly or something???

A bit late to answer, but for future reference... It was a regular program, if not weekly. It was often (perhaps always) an hour and featured two bands. When the Yes performance here debuted, it was paired with the Moody Blues.
