I agree. Many of these fathers, sooner or later become a stumbling block. I add Teofimo Lopez as well. His father and Bill Haney grate on my nerves. Possibly, the only fighter I can think of whose father doesn't get in the way of the son is Loma. But Loma is approaching 40. Devin and Teo are still in their 20's. Im sure that plays a role.

Unfortunately, I agree. I don’t know who Shakur will listen to but it doesn’t seem like he’s very willing to listen to many people honestly. I hope it doesn’t take him losing in order to do so. That’s his biggest issue for sure. If he humbles down and surrenders to his coach’s guidance he’ll be much better.

Dev was Crispy Under Big Floyd… Shakur needs to be in Omaha training w Bud

Devin Haney should set healther boundaries for himself concerning his father I respect elders & think Bill means the best but their comes a time in every mans life where he should have complete control of his decision-making & public image especially as a world class fighter
@DandreCandiaАй бұрын
coming off a traumatic loss like that seeing his dad going online bragging about an assult & battery lawsuit on a man who beat his son in a historic fight before Devin even has time to heal is one of the worst moves I've seen in a minute

The same way Benavides....and Teofimo Lopez.

My head says Shakur Stevenson has a better chance to get over his obstacles than Devin Haney has of getting over his. I'm a bigger fan of Haney tho as an overall boxing star. I like the line Sayf said about Stevenson getting past Zepeda though. It's a whole new world for him if he pulls that off. Also I expect Bivol-Beterbiev to be the fight of the year for real boxing fans who appreciate skill over hype.

Do you have a gym in Newark? I live in Newark.

@RossyColtrane: I had a school in East orange for 7 years and taught bare knuckle boxing. Only closed shop about 7 months ago now. Closed because even though it was in the hood, dudes used to stand across the street and look in lol. Never came in to learn. I had 6 students who had the heart to train with me. I am now enjoying the time away.

I would tend to agree, Especially when it comes to Devin

Agree with most of what u said but zeppeda is not skilled enough to beat shakur
@TheUmmahFightCampАй бұрын
@insidethesquaredcircle9797: You need to study the fight game and then come back. "skill" depends on what you mean by it. You think the only skill is the shoulder roll? What fighters really should have kept his title in the first fight with Floyd? Answer: Jose Luis Castillo. Not "skilled" to you, but compubox has him winning that fight. Who knockout out the tooth of Floyd and rocked him while doing it? Maidana. Ah, not as "skilled" as Floyd. The generation today have very little REAL boxing knowledge and should come to my channel to learn. Zepeda IS skilled enough to push Shakur because he will walk forward and force Shakur to fight rather than coast. Stick around and learn.

I agree with you about Haney but Stevenson just needs that dance partner that's going to make him fight for me. . If Ali and Tyson were both fighters today Tyson would have a bigger fan base in my opinion but who is more skilled to you?
@TheUmmahFightCampАй бұрын
@showme6842: Shakur went back to his corner in his last fight and when his grandfather told him to pick it up, the fighter said, "He is fighting to survive!". The answer should have been: "Ok, I got ya". Shakur will look for excuses before he listens to his current trainer because of their relationship.
