This stereo 'sbd' recording definitely warrants remastering when we get round to it. It is horribly compressed but nonetheless a fascinating and (we hope you will agree) rewarding listen. I was sent the tape, which contained only this track, during the tour, but with no dateline. I'm sure many of you will identify it.
The Talk album and tour were not my favourites and so collecting live material from this period is not something I've really done (about half a dozen shows, 2 boot CD sets and DVD's only) . However, much like Mirror to the Sky is for me the standout track on that album and the only one worthy of Yes, Endless Dream was, for me at least, the same for Talk. I believe it to be a minor masterpiece - if you forgive the over-indulgent computer nonsense, there is some real emotive Yesmusic here.
And this is a death-defyingly superb performance - especially by Rabin who plays it to perfection. I defy anyone not to get goose-bumps during the last five or so minutes.
More from the 1990's to follow.
