My point of view is quite different. We should definitely depend on our AMCA for 5th gen requirements. But also we need to increase the number of supersonic Bramhos and hypersonic missiles significantly as a strategic deterrence. So that although Pakistan purchase 5th gen fighter before us, we have hypersonic capabilities before them. It will resist them to conduct any misadventures against us. Basically it would be the Stealth vs Hypersonic game. When AMCA arrived we retain our air advantage again. 😊😊 Along with that we should accelerated the work on multi layerd air defense system project Kusha. We should also explore the option of S500 ( which Russia claims that it can detect mighty F35)

Its not so black and white While i agree tejas mk2 should not be cancelled, it is unclear how an industry that struggled with a simple fighter like tejas can find success in their first shot at a 5th gen fighter, more over the proposal of introducing 6th gen technology into amca sounds a lot like what happened with LCA the goal post kept being changed due to delays which caused even further delays This is not a situation which can be defined in absolutes and the people spearheading these projects in this country should take a decision based on the hard realities Tejas mk2 and Amca should be both pursued in the ideal scenario but if its not possible, they should try their best to make it possible and if its still not happening then we must search the infamous "stopgap market"

Primary bottleneck in Indian R&D is India does not give good salaries to its scinetists and engineers. A engineer employed in the defense sector in a poor country like Pakistan can earn $5000/month while an Indian engineer in the defense sector receives $1000 - $1100/month and that too before taxes. People criticise Pakistan Army for taking too many resources but they give their soldiers (engineers & scientists are counted as soldiers in Pakistan) good salaries and benefits like plots and large pensions after retirement and after retirement their are Fauji Foundations for the retirees to get employed in. Despite having a worse economy, Pakistan has less brain drain per capita compared to India. The price of freedom is ectremely high and Pakistanis have been paying it while Indians only make KZbin videos to crib and pass comments on Pakistan.

@ravinagaraj700317 күн бұрын
It is necessary to view all aircraft development with the lens of military strategy. Stealth is necessary for offence but is not essential for defense. The Chinese are projecting power by showing off their stealth capability but this is very expensive and difficult to manufacture in volume. To counter this, India needs more advanced RADAR and missile systems. India needs a lot of comparatively inexpensive interceptor and ground attack aircraft to defend a very long border. For this purpose, variants of Tejas are a good fit. If India needs to bolster its offensive capability, it can purchase a small quantity of highly capable aircraft like Raphael and/or use long range missiles. So, there is no conflict between the path India is on for aircraft development and procurement and its strategic needs. The focus must now be on getting the engines necessary to produce the aircraft.

Consider continues, multilayered CAP by numerous cost effective IIR based AAM armed (2-4 missiles per platform) jet powered, rader signal optimized drones, where main sensor is DAS, connected among eachother throgh well encripted mesh and command centre/platform through satelite link, target detection/tracking/identification is AI driven. I think that can be cheapest and most effective solution against a stealth adversory. The more advanced stealth manned/unmanned platform will have to either cross through the invisible net of the drones. Considering the drones will have low radar and IR signature (because of the smaller size and design optimization) and will not be emitting radar signals, it will be very difficult, ifnot impossible to detect and avoid all of those drones. So the only option left for the aggresor will be to seekout, engage and destroy these drones first. But doing so will reduce the arsenal they will be carrying while facing the actual fighters or to destroy the intended target. More importantly, these will reveal their positions (if not, exactly, atleast the general location). And we all know, once the general location of the stealth aircrafte are known, it is not very difficult to find/track them.

Kaveri engine agar thik se fly karane m safal ho jaye to hame 100 in power engine ki tyari karni chahiye. 10 saal m to hum 100 kn power engine banne m safal ho jayenge. Aur jo IIT se pass out hai top kar ke oonhe 50 lakh tak ka package per year diya jana chaiye taki wo bahar na jaye

India should acquire 4 squadrons of su-57 or f-35. And then we will add amca during 2040(Hopefully) . And Tejas mk2 , which will probably be operational at 2030, will be used to maintain squadron strength.
