I've had the OG Core P3 mounted on my wall for the past 5-ish years, best decision I've ever made... Happy to see one of my favourite tech creators make the transition. It's gonna need a lot of regular dusting, but it frees up so much of your desk space that the trade off is more than worth it.
@jsteezy806 ай бұрын
I made a similar comment before seeing yours and I agree with it all. I got my P3 case in 2020 during the pandemic when upgrading to 10th gen i9, but I never did end up wall mounting it. As I said above I think this gives me the inspiration to finally mount mine. It's just been on my powered desk behind the monitors. The dust is something I've had to content with as well. Although a few months in I changed my fan profile for my AIO fans to ramp up per the temp and they stay off under 40c

Yeah, I'm gonna make a prediction: That Minisplit is gonna leak on your workbench/desk at some point. Make sure it is serviced by a HVAC technician who knows how to clear a drain line, clean the coils and actually cleans the filters. I've seen/had to fix ones that were not well installed, well maintained and neglected. I don't like them be it in my own home or install/servicing them. I think you'll be fine as you're likely to keep it in good order but just make sure the drain line is clear at all times. Using a shop vac on it once a month to clear the drain is a good idea, same time you clean the filter. (You clean the filter, right?)

I was thinking the same thing. It may take years or months but I've seen it happen too many times. Maybe just a few drops but that could be enough to kill electronics near it

Well considering how easy it is to take the cover off a heatpump clean both the coils and drip tray, it really doesn't have to become an issue. Heaps of videos showing how to take these units apart, and you don't have to make a huge mess cleaning them either. 🤷♂

I love this case. The only case in the market that has ample space to vertically mounted a 4090 and Sound Blaster card with two extender risers. Good spacing between vertical 4090 and NH-U12A cooler so can remove the GPU effortlessly. Mounted it using fixed TV wall bracket. Comes with all the fittings and about 3 inches gap between the wall and the case.

I have the same case (non-pro) and wall mounted it last summer. Best decision I ever made. I also have it on an articulating wall mount for easy maneuvering. if I need to change anything. and easily take it off the wall. I have installed a LOT of cabinets over the years (also in southern California earthquake country). All you need is one stud with two screws. So long as those screws are properly centered in the stud, two 2 1/2" framing screws will hold the weight of a PC just fine. I have seen 100lb+ upper cabinets loaded with dishes, mounted with a single screw....

I have wallmounted and watercooled PC in Core P5 for over 6 years. Under AC. Also have the case rotated 180, basically upside down. Originally got it because it was easiest how to mount SSI-EEB Asus dual socket Xeon board to something not expensive and not bad looking. I kept it when upgrading to AMD. I do like it very much, will not go back to normal case.

im at he point of the video where he is unboxing the thermaltake case. i did this about 5 or so years back and depending on the TV or wall mount you could have issues still. with mine i had a tv wall mount that would allow you to rotate the screen and the case was heavier on one side and would always rotate down unless i somehow stopped it from rotating, i have since built a custom wall mount system and have them solidly on the wall. i Took the sliding/rolling Barn door approach with the new mounting system. i did this as if i have to work on the PC i can simply roll it over to the door to my room and remove it easily from the wall. i would wall mounting PC's to you as it will clear up space on the desk.

There's aluminum extrusion PC frame that you can mount your stuff onto, basically a test bench that can stand vertically. You can just install a hook hole meant for drives / water coolers on the top of the frame and use hooks to mount the PC to the wall. That's how I do it. The frame costs me about 20$.

I'd suggest mounting a vertical rail about 6 inches from the back side. This will let the connectors come off the ports straight and then have a more gradual curve down along the rail where they can all bundle more neatly before they head down to the desk. Should give a cleaner look and be better for the cables.

@JETWTF6 ай бұрын
It's not a bad idea, it was an incomplete idea. You did not complete it by adding earthquake straps that would prevent it from falling off the shelf. Some pipe strap(metal strip with holes in it found in the plumbing section) and some wall anchors. One end of a strap attached to the PC via a fan screw, the other end mounted to the wall via a wall anchor. 1 strap at the front of the case and one in the back. less than 1/2 hour taking your time for a 100% safe shelf mounted PC that only looks unsafe.
