So think about this. Barris Offee, Inquisitorius class of 18BBY, is summoned by Lord Vader and The Grand Inquisitor to receive her first mission as an Inquisitor. The mission? Capture or terminate her former master Luminara Unduli.

During a panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in 2015, Dave Filoni said the following about Barris Offee: "In the original script, [Barriss] died at the end of the episode. She blew up her prison cell, and her along with it... But I didn't want that fate for Barriss, so I cut that part. And I had plans for Barriss, and still do... Do [Ahsoka and Barriss] ever meet again? That's a great question. It would make a great story, but not a story we'll tell today." It appears that May 4th is that day.

@@marius3562 yes I did. It was a look of "oh shit! Anakin is Vader and he's my boss!" That's just a countdown until you find your ass force force choked for even sneezing while in his presence. She's screwed. Obviously not very many if any, besides Reva, knew he was Anakin because why train someone just to get them killed because anyone connected to the order knows what she did.

Explaining Bariss, I would also add the part where Anakin uncovered the evidence to condemn Bariss, in the interest of clearing Ahsokas name, then fought and defeated her, and is now her Master training her to be an Inquisitor. One crazy ass kinda full circle situation there if you think about it :o

To be fair, the "Two candidates enter, one candidate leaves" was also sometimes used for Sith tests for apprenticeship during the post-Bane era. When you're training for combat and ruthlessness, especially with a nice hint of desperation, that's a pretty good way to cull the weak, as it were.

This season of "Tales of" I like the contrasting stories. What I mean is, Morgan's story is her origin as we already know her ending. With Barris we know her origin story but we don't know her ending.

Ever since we got the red shirt Inquisitor in TOTJ, I've really been wanting to see an origin of the Inquisitorius. It's that one little missing piece in the chain of the TCW/BB/TOTJ mini-epic that I absolutely have to fan edit together one day. So this is a joyous moment if this plays out how it seems.

the origin was revealed in the Darth Vader comic run, - Palpatine who tempted the Jedi Sentinel captain, who was very much dissillusioned by the Jedi Order the same way as Dooku was. He betrayed his fellow Sentinels and also the one who took down the security system in the Coruscant Jedi Temple which is why Vader and the 501st were able to just walk in - After Operation: Knightfall, the Jedi Sentinel became The Grand Inquisitor, who initially was Palpatine's agent for a while while Vader is still doing his Sith training - After the events of ROTS, Vader and The Grand Inquisitor were both tasked by Palpatine to eliminate Jedi Master Jocasta Nu, the librarian of the Jedi Archives, who possessed all the names of all Force-sensitive children. - Some time later, Vader was formally introduced by Palpatine to the Imperial army and introduced him to the new recruits gathered by the Grand Inquisitor, Vader showed his dominance and established himself as the Master of the Inquisitorious

@@primecoconut4204 I was speaking more towards seeing it told on screen (even if in a condensed form), since we haven't had a proper chronological introduction to them in a film or series yet (they're already established in Obi-Wan, Rebels, and even in the Fallen Order games). So the one in Tales of the Jedi kinda comes out of nowhere at present. But at least he (and the Inquisitors in general) will have a little more backstory now, even if Tales of the Empire doesn't go fully into their formation. (appreciate the recap though!)

More Nightsister content is great :D Fallen Order has some nightsister stuff and the info about Dathomir/Grievous. This is really dope :) Merrin is a nightsister and hates the Empire but this is early early, before Fallen Order. I think Cals story in The Jedi Games are some of the best lore and has earned a spot in canon.. let's bring it all out and tie it together. Edit - I've not only wanted more on the early nightsisters and what happened on Dathomir but.. The beginnings of the Inquisitors man.. Think they are dope and knowing they were all Jedi @ 1 point or from the Temple.. turned right away! I think it's sick that they show us the process.. finally! We saw the fall of them in Rebels and know they are nowhere to be seen in the OT because of that!

After Rebels Adam needs to strap Jay to a chaif and force him to watch Clone Wars. And I mean ALL of it. Even the rough sfuff. And in chronological order, too. Just so it's not confusing when a character who died last the season before is suddenly alive again and then they try to solve his death the next episode or something.

The final test to join the Inquisitorious being the exact same as the final test to join the Imperial Royal Guard makes a lot of sense to me, especially when you think about how the torch is passed between Sith after the rule of two was implemented.

I think Barris recognized Vader as Anakin at the end of the trailer. Maybe she'll be redeemed and renounce the dark side, only to be killed by Morgan at the end. It would explain why we've never seen her as an Inquisitor.

Now all we need is Disney to let Lucasfilm Animation make Star Wars: Tales Of The Bounty Hunters so we can get that unaired arc of The Clone Wars w/ Cad Bane and Boba Fett to be official Star Wars canon and show finished animation of Boba Fett in his iconic green Mando armor in the animation style of The Clone Wars. We need that story made. Doing it in anthology series akin to Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire is the best way to do it.

3:33-3:37 Seeing Marrok and the TOTJ Inquisitor in this shot really makes me hope that we get to know what their titles were in the Inquisitorius. This trailer was so f***ing crazy, and I really enjoyed seeing you two to it. Just like with TOTJ, I love that this sequel series will also focus on two characters who are none other than Barriss Offee and Morgan Elsbeth. I am definitely planning to watch TOTE on May 4. adam, can you get jay to watch like a 'best of' when it comes to clone wars? there are a few arcs he'd appreciate ... landing at point rain, mortis, umbara, the wrong jedi, fives, mandalore ... that one with obiwan's girlfriend and the guy who was gonna blow up the ship but then anakin showed up? watching it now with all the ahsoka content that's already come out, i think he'd enjoy it.

Hey, you know how there’s that new trilogy of movies, that so many people have had the Mandela effect in thinking got made from 2015-2017…Well one of their biggest plot failings is that they didn’t include what Luke learned in the comics. Luke learned that the Light and Dark side were one in the same, and that to balance the force was to reunite those halves (which is what he and his Wife Mara Jade learned and would have taught in their school). It’s just that the vast majority of dark side users don’t learn restraint and mastery, they just become a fire hose of force power and corrode themselves. Having both Kyle & Ray know techniques from both sides, and see their vastly different ideologies in how to use them should have been the main plot.

Jay, I highly recommend reading the Revenge of the Sith novelization. It offers a serious look into how the Force effects people. It isn't just 'power'. The force can and will influence your emotions. It's the reason Jedi do not train older apprentices typically. Attachment IS a path to the dark side, and the dark side consumes you.

@@SamaritanPrime To say that weak Jedi fall easily to the Dark Side is a massive understatement. The Dark Side is intoxicating... and WILL lead you to destroy everything around you for the next thrill unless you have iron will. Palpatine is very much an exception to the rule, as he had the willpower to not be consumed by it constantly. Palpatine is the epitome of the high functioning drug addict that somehow manages to survive high society while being high on hard drugs.

Adam if you want a good explanation of why the dark side should be treated very carefully read Dark Disciple. Though in general I do agree that in general if treated with cautuon and used in moderation the dark side isn’t always a bad thing. But don’t forget Kyle Katarn is sort of an anomaly. But as for this trailer, there was liteerally nothing I didn’t like about it. I knew it would be good as soon as I heard Thrawn’s voice. But getting the rest of Baris’s story is just the icing on the cake for me. And the grand inquisitor being voiced by Jason Isaacs again? Yes please! And I didn’t know I needed more of Morgan’s story but I’m glad we’re getting it.

I just hope that the Barris story doesn’t end with her dying willingly serving the Empire… that would go completely against what she advocated for in The Clone Wars. She became a radical and betrayed the Jedi Order because she saw through the whole conflict… the Jedi became “an army fighting for the Dark Side” and the Republic slowly becoming the Empire. It just doesn’t make sense that she would willingly join the Empire without either secretly sabotage it from the inside… or planning to escape from it eventually.

I think this is a fantastic idea and I'm so looking forward to it. But am I wrong for wanting Star Wars to just, move on? I'm kind of prequel'd out. I like that we're filling in the gaps and thing it's a great thing to add to the tapestry. But one of these days, we're going to have to find writers to move beyond The Rise of Skywalker and explore whatever world is ahead.

The thing that the sequel trilogy did wrong when it comes to Force users is that they should have capitalized on Luke saying the Jedi must die. Like you said, there are other types of Force users besides Jedi, Sith and even the Witches. They should have done the work and had Luke create a different type of Force user to train Rey in. All they did was have him expand and fail in what Yoda taught him in summation of 1000s of years of Jedi... Luke is the last person that should be training Force users as he was.

I think Bariss would’ve been a better fit for the Obi-Wan show than them making a new character in Reva.

@@Greenhawk4 Well they're making Bariss an Inquisitor, which many of the fans already figured would've happened to Bariss before Obi-Wan show was even considered. And Bariss already fits many of the story beats of Reva's character. So why invent a whole new character when Bariss already checks so many of the boxes.

@@cruman87 Because she doesn’t really fit with Obi-Wan himself. Maybe if it was some sort of Vader show then it would probably fit but not really Obi-Wan.

Oh Bariss, why’d you have to go dark?,………….on the other hand, I can’t wait to see her story. I wonder if we’ll ever get another interaction between her and ahsoka? Maybe in an Ahsoka season 2? Would be awesome. Also, the animation in this looks amazing!
