I so enjoy watching your channel! You are so very genuine and REAL. It really makes me feel good to know that we all can just create, have fun and try new things and not worry who is "looking over the shoulder" so to speak. Very glad you popped up in my list that one da😄

He, he, perfect, you made me giggle. Your soap looked fine as you cut it, I cut after about 2.5 hours and it's still really warm, sometimes with a gell ring just like yours, I just stack them back together again. I have an odd routine for mine, I stack them on top of each other, so the weight of them keeps them all snug, drape a tea towel over them and then put a cute bobble hat over the top, to hold it all together, it makes me giggle every time, hmm I wish you could attach photos to comments. I bevel mine the next day and they're fine to bevel then

That's a good idea to stack them together - the bobble hat is classic 😂 - wish you could attach a pic too, love it!! Thanks for the tip on beveling the next day - I was just a nervous wreck with doing these in a loaf mold for the first time hehe.

Looks like a lovely soap, I havent made brine soap, but do live by the ocean, so might try it. I have done Himalayan soaps just recently.
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique3 жыл бұрын
How did you use the Himalayan salt? Did you mix it into your soap at trace? I have not tried using that before.🤔😊
@handcraftedbyhelen19633 жыл бұрын
I just use it the same as you used the extra soap. I buy super fine Himalayan salt and put it in the soap batter once it has come to a light to medium trace, and then I sprinkle a tiny bit of chunky salt in the top

I did enjoy your story about getting sea water. I live in the mountains about 90 minutes from the coast and asked my daughter to get a gallon of sea water…I got a tiny bottle less than half a litre 😂. I will try your recipe at the weekend.

Oh wow! You got less than expected and I got more! Have fun making 😆

Did you filter the sea water or boil it?

Hi from Australia I have three week old sea water is it alright still to use ? New at this 😊
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique2 ай бұрын
I honestly don't know for sure but I think it should be fine. Salt is the ultimate preserver 😆 so I don't think the water will "go bad", but I don't have a ton of experience with fresh salt water - I'm about as land locked as it gets 😂

Hi Tammy, made the sea salt soap yesterday , still in the mould after 24 hours still feels soft am I to leave it for longer ? Let it harden up ?
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique2 ай бұрын
@@suesparkledimndart4309 def let it harden up - are you sure you used enough lye? I had that happen, this summer actually, and realized I had to have mismeasured my lye - it never got hard. if it does not get hard after a couple of days I am afraid it may not be a good batch. Let me know how it goes, I'm invested in this journey of yours now 😃
