If i learned one thing from souls games it is that the games lore can be modified to your playthru fantasy. thats why Miyazaki and his team loves to make a huge pause between every part of lore. So that you or theory crafters can fill that in with whatever they/you desire. also i saw a theory video which made good points that the tarnished might be Marikas and Godfreys child.

@@candlejack101 Pretty sure Godwyn was going to be the final boss. In the lore Miquella was obsessed over him. Wish we got some more great runes too. Messmer, Miquella, Godwyn. I know we got one for Miquella but it doesn’t have any use outside the final boss fight of the dlc.

Maybe, but the Godwyn influence permeates so far(even into the Land Of The Shadow) that it’s impossible to revive Godwyn since his BODY is still alive, but his consciousness was erased with DESTINED DEATH.

Pretty sure this dialogue exists even without the DLC: just defeat Morgott. The reason she says "once more" is that she can help the player defeat Morgott by summoning her into the fight.

i think the fact there are 0 new convos linking the dlc to base game is the lamest shit ever like you do all the dlc after killing all the bosses and not a single base game convo changes absolute lore breaking lame shit

It would be more lore breaking if it changes. No one knows where the Land of Shadow is. In fact, it is accessed by Death, as stated by the suppressing pillar, but the concept of Death was removed by Marika by taking out Rune of Death, so nobody can go to the Land of Shadow, and naturally nobody would know, so it makes much more sense that nothing in the base game changes when you do anything in the DLC.

@@aaronmorgan8047 I think that's a loophole that's specific to base game, unrelated to DLC, because despite having a great rune, there is no divine tower related to Miquella, nor there is Two Fingers (that we're aware of) assigned to Miquella. If these things exists, then yes Miquella's rune breaking should have an impact on base game, but neither of those things exist. And again, that's base game thing specifically, not really DLC.

I don't really think FromSoftware's DLC content has ever worked that way. It's usually entirely new content which has never bothered me. I could be wrong, though.

@@theMitchBau5 Yes you’re right as usually it’s the other way around, in dark souls 3 dlc characters have different dialogue depending on the ending you got. Sir Vilhelm & Sister Friede from ashes of ariandel will mention Yuria if you got the lord of hollows ending.

If only there was an extra mending rune you could get in the dlc to unlock an ending. Maybe made from miquellas discarded flesh and his broken great rune. Would increase the significance of dlc from a lore perspective

I know that there is no interaction between the DLC and the base game. But it would have been really cool if you could have gotten rid of the impenetrable thorns blocking your path by interacting with the scadutree. Cuz that could have opened up a whole other path to save Melina where she still likes you.

This happened to me once in Gaius's grace. I thought to myself I was going to have some really segret dialogue due to having killed just Godrick, Radahn and Mohg. But instead got the dialogue you get when you reach the third church of Marika (which by the way, assumes a whole new meaning after the dlc drops).
