The idea of making "horrible" or "shocking" sentences is good, but those were toned down. I recall having watched you many years ago explaining words as cystitis or phimosis or finding words homophonous to "マ◯コ". That was funny and really got my attention back then. Thanks to you, I still remember the kanji for "bladder". That tone may be too spicy for current day YT, but you may turn those "horrible sentences" into, I don't know, sentences that mess with weebs. For example, bad dating advice or sentences that would be only said by a loser. For a more friendlier content, you may explain the dangers of speaking like an anime character in real life, and ending the video explaining how to say it right. Just my 2 cents for a brainstorming.

@@hollyhockgod The biggest issue with over-the-top sentences is people are SUPER triggered by such things nowadays. Last thing I need is a bunch of angry people trying to cancel me for a sentence I thought was funny. The Phimosis video is a prime example. I feel that video would SHOCK people now. But it was made like a fun educational video.

Thank you for the new videos you've been putting out for Book 4 content! I'm just now catching up to these after having a small hiatus on my serious study from last year due to work changes. I always love the interesting or funny sentences you throw our way, both in the books and in your videos, this one being a special case. Always something fun to learn with George, lol. I may need to get that うんこ book. 答え：Until I am married, I won't do it! (Thought this was vague enough to match in English what is implied in Japanese, while still keeping meaning)

Nice to know that it is possible to pass JLPT N4 with JFZ books. Thanks for mentioning it. I will try N5 in July, so it should be achievable. Almost finished book 1 after watching the videos on KZbin. So far it has been a great experience. And, fun fact: we share the same birthday. Maybe it would be nice to suggest some easy songs we may use to gradually surround ourselves with Japanese vocabulary & grammar outside of regular lessons.

I would be interested in your insight on japanese music or art in general. I am still very early in learning but I have become a big fan of Utsu-p, who makes a type of metal with the vocaloids. In particular a song called "poison Apple" I noticed it repeated "-te shimau" frequently which was the topic of one of your videos. I would love to see you breakdown the lyrics and show examples of their metaphors and puns etc. Love your work!

I listened to it twice. Nice change up in the middle but it's definitely not what I'm into nowadays. I don't know how you hear "te shimau" in there without reading the lyrics. I'm not a fan of super hard much any more and I REALLY LOVE to hear the lyrics.

Even still I would be interested in hearing how musicians and others use linguistical tricks if that is something you would be interested in covering in depth, I realize that is a pretty high level topic and maybe not a good fit for a learning series.

To my surprise the ferrys that we used to see in the late 1980's that went from Aomori to Hakodate are now museums. I feel so old....lol

How does 買える turn it into "can buy"? It seems like a whole different word (う verb to a る verb) insread of a conjugation. Is there an earlier video that talks about this?

@@Nosajskie thanks. I just watched a video called What are GODAN verbs and how to congugate them. And it explained this exact thing. It's weird George doesn't have a video that tackles this specifically. Like a Japanese in 5 or something.

貯める is a build up. Which can include money but also you can save up other things with 貯める. 貯金 is specifically putting money into a bank.
