Love the stereo backing vocals in this version. The background vocals were unfortunately "monoized" in the subsequent re-releases/remixes.

Wow, I’ve never heard this version before. It’s pretty much half the song!

There are some vocal differences between the album version and single version. First off, at 0:14 - the way she sings the word “when” is different from how she sings it on the single. Instead of leaning into the word and scooping the notes, she attacks them and there’s only air on the “wh” of “when”. There’s also more power and punch to the vocal on the single than on the album version. Not sure if this was Richard’s idea or Karen’s, but it does make for a more radio-friendly listen. For the rest of the song on the original album track, the vocals match what is heard on the single.
