The famous Cobb Salad was not the beginning of this famous dressing, nor was it just one lettuce. Here is the story and the dressing that existed at this famous restaurant before the famous salad!

Dressing:
1/4 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
1/4 TSP Sugar
1 1/2 TSP Lemon Juice
1/2 TSP Salt
1/2 TSP Pepper
1/2 TSP Worcestershire
3/4 TSP Dry Mustard
1 Clove Garlic, Chopped
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
3/4 Vegetable Oil
Mix everything except oils. Add oils and mix again. If you prefer a more oily dressing, don't add water.
Salad (The original Brown Derby lettuce mix):
1/2 Head Romaine, Torn into 1 inch pieces
1/2 Head Iceberg Lettuce, Torn into 1 in pieces
1/2 Bunch Watercress
1/2 Head Chicory (Endive), Torn into 1 in pieces
2 Tomatoes, Quartered
1/2 Cup Celery,Chopped
1/2 Cup Brown Derby French Dressing
Mix all greens, top with tomatoes and celery. Toss lightly with dressing just before serving.
