Nice review Scott! Those YesWelder CUT-55 plasma cutters are nice. I also have one and I really like it. Happy Cutting! 😀

I think my first project will be to make a custom trolley for the tig welder and plasma cutter. They are both very slim, so should be able to sit side by side.

The pressure on the air regulator max input pressure. These machines usually need the regulator set to 70 psi, or you will have to great an air flow which will blow out the the pilot arc and the torch will not fire. The air flow through the torch is not in a straight line. The parts of the torch are designed to make the air flow to swirl . This always the ionized gases carry the cuurent which heats the metal to a molten. The air stream the blows the metal away. You could think of it as a lightning bolt inside a tornado.

I find 30-40 PSI is more than enough and it actually cuts worst with PSI above that. More slag on the underside of cut. Though that taps right off.

I may have to look into one of these as well. Good review!! A chart on the machine itself, with some settings would be nice.

I like the company. Have their welders and just bought this. The improvements they NEED to make are: get an actual English speaker to write the instructions and proofread them (many blatant mistakes like 220 and 110 amps are opposites, shows higher amps on 110 than 220 in manual, which is impossible etc.) and I think a mm for imperial conversion chart inside the door or something would be a nice bonus. The engineering and build of the machine where it matters are fairly good too. They didn't skimp there. It is a cheap Chinese product, but at the end of the day unless you're a professional; this works perfect. It's $459 with a 30% offer on the YesWelder page itself. Just paid $320 for it.

Keep it up gd content and you'll be rewarded. A good size compressor like a 5hp 2 stage 60 gal tank would be a nice addition. My air compressor was built in 1946 by emglo thing is huge, still working never runs out of air. Only drawback it's horizontal and takes up valuable space. Gd luck with plasma cutter

I have a Kellogg American 3hp 2 stage 80 gallon from 1964. The size of the electric motor and compressor pump is massive! I had to disassemble it to get it into my shed. Bought it for $200. The guy guaranteed it worked 5 years ago when he unhooked it. He told me if it didnt work he would bring the $200 back to me. It fired right up! Was plumbed goofy for the pressure release valve and had a bad check valve. Otherwise the thing is fantastic! Now building a cnc plasma table and comparing this YesWelder and the Lotos Plasmas! $100 difference and I like the marketing of YesWelder

Real good review. I only wish mine worked. Pure chinese junk. Mine was no good out of the box. Pressure gauge only reads 30psi. I don’t know whether I have to much or to little air pressure. Arc goes out after a few seconds. Yeswelder is putting unreasonable demands on me to fix it.
@4hundred4742 жыл бұрын
I have the same issue with mine. Only shows 30psi and blows a ton of air out of the hole in the middle of the arrow on the regulator/cleaner. Sent them an email and haven't got a reply. Luckily mine cuts fine, just have to unhook between cuts or I'll drain my compressor.
