I’ve had my Yeti bucket for 3 years now, the cheap buckets do fine for most things but I have so much more confidence carrying heavy loads with the Yeti bucket. I’d for sure buy it again
@SuburbanAdventures3 жыл бұрын
I use mine all the time, I actually use it a lot more than I thought. In fact, I used it today fishing. I would probably buy it again as well. Thanks for watching and commenting.

For 99% of the loadout applications, the generic hardware store 5 gal bucket is fine. I have several. The one thing that can make a difference in which bucket you use is if you use it for a food grade application. I use my Yeti for brining turkey, chicken and salmon. Not all 5 gal buckets are food grade plastic and the Yeti is made food grade plastic.

The only problem with this bucket is that your wife will remind you over and over that “you spent $40 on a bucket” when she overspends. That problem will make this bucket price look dirt cheap! Been married 37 years and it seems like longer. When you buy something like this, try not to let your wife know the price, even if you have to lie about it...go with $5. You have to tell a lot of lies if you want to go 37 years with no end in sight!

Wondering if a grit guard will fit the yeti? Their web site sucks for tech specs. Like how many mils it is and inside top and bottoms dimensions.
@SuburbanAdventures Жыл бұрын
I've never tried a grit guard but from what I've read online, they fit quite well in the Yeti bucket. I'm not sure exactly how many mils it is but it is very substantial, much thicker than a regular bucket. I saw there was a thread on Reddit recommending the Yeti for auto detailers. That might help you more......

The Yeti Works even better with the lid for it, will keep things cool and makes a great seat with it :)

I feel like the YETI bucket requires a little imagination. If all you're doing is moving water, get the regular 5gal bucket. If you're using it for something similar to me, its 100% worth it. I use it with a caddy and a lid. Under the caddy I store drinks and ice. In the caddy I keep my sunscreen, fishing tackle, snacks, phone, keys, and other small bits. I use my bucket primarily for when i'm on the river in my kayak. I can bring a variety of stuff I'll need on the river all in my bucket. It certainly beats bringing a separate cooler and separate tackle box, and separate bag for valuables.

I agree 100%.... I've used my Yeti bucket for everything from fishing to carrying beach towels to holding ice and drinks. Thanks for watching and thanks for the great comment!

Interested in the melt rate of ice in these buckets, i'm strongly considering switching to a bucket instead of an ice chest this season; for starters you can pack 5 bottles of champagne on ice in the bucket and still carry it incognito i'm tired of dollying the 50 gal ice chest so me and the boys can all have mimosas while we hang stairs.

Just been looking for any 5 gallon bucket i can get in store same day that is thicker than a regular bucket for my shop vac pre separator so it doesn't implode and break suction at fhe rim under flex. Might be the only reason id pay 4 to 10x the price of a regular. Im close to squirting a compatible glue around the rim and putting 2 regular ones together. I do have 5 gallon buckets coming out my ears as a painting and dw contractor. Still they generally implode. Oneida air has one for 20 but todaus the day i need it for tomorrow.
@SuburbanAdventures Жыл бұрын
I used to work in the commercial paint contracting business and I remember being swamped in 5 gallon pails. The Yeti is extremely durable, I know $40 seems steep but after having this bucket for almost 3 years now and using it all the time for all sorts of things, I think it is very much worth it.
@AJNpa80 Жыл бұрын
I just realized I might have trouble getting my separator top to clamp on if the rim is much different. I would be great for my other one that you mount to a standard lid because you cut a hole and screw it on to an existing lid. Their gaskets lid and top would be durable with my shop unit. The Oneida top is tall, the one I need for tomorrow is its own lid and fits all standard buckets. Guessing the yeti top rim is wider by the look and the lid joins like one of their tumbler lids.

Probably drop into Dicks before closing as it's next to the Depot

Is the Nike gear you're wearing any more valuable than the Russell Athletic from Walmart? I buy Yeti because as a commercial outfitter and caterer their products hold up to the rigors better than cheap stuff. It is a matter of opinion and bank account.

Its so obvious the old bucket was already broke when you sat on it! It wasn't broke before earlier in the video unless you switched it out with a different white bucket? And since I don't see any other comments calling you out for the fraud, I think it's safe to say you probably deleted all the other comments that were made because it's soooo easy to see!
@SuburbanAdventures Жыл бұрын
1. That was sort of the point, it was supposed to be a joke. 2. I haven't deleted any comments from this video at all. I think most people probably just took it for what it was worth and didn't feel the need to call me a fraud for something that was supposed to be a set up. 3. I do appreciate you watching and commenting on my video though!
