I love these and have about seven of them planted as understory plants under azalea, rhododendron and nandina. Pretty dark forest green color.

Very nice shrub, but as someone who has always gardened in zones 5-6, I will admit to being a little curious why gardeners in warmer zones would choose yews, when they have so many other options with evergreen shrubs.

Jim,… here in Idaho we can not plant Yews?… They kill the deer and antelope if they eat them?…Is it the variety ?.. We have lost whole herds from this
