You can just tell how well that airframe flies. Superior to the YF-22 in all flight envelopes except very low speeds.

I'm impressed. This is a unique model that you don't see too often. Actually I don't think I've seen a YF-23 ARF up until now. I saw one of the prototypes in Ohio a few months ago. Great plane :)

probably better, given the stealth of this is better than the f22. flight jockeys felt dogfighting was better in the f22. which of course, have never happened.

So even more history facts. The Black widow aka YF-23 outperformed the YF-22 now known as the F-22 raptor. It was a superior bird but it simply was cheaper and it met all the requirements so they chose it because it was simply cheaper. I love the Black widow. I hope we change our minds and return it into service with some updates or at least an improved version. I really just like the look of it

Cool looking model, I always liked the F-23, and particularly like those retracts and brakes. The nose looks a bit off, kind of like the took it from the F-22 and made some minor changes. I also wonder how it will stall with those tiny tips, just hope the wing has enough washout to compensate, since the net sweep is near zero.

Really nice airplane, cool review. A UBEC does not require any channel though, having an extra port/connector on the receiver helps but a simple Y-harness will work just as well. Keep up the good work, definitely makes me want to get one of these.

Near Long Beach a airport has a air museum near by that has one of the 2 prototypes. You can physically see the fighter. I think its the grey ghost one.

No, a license is not required to fly these plans. However, if you want to take it a step further and fly FPV that requires a technician level HAM radio license in the US, if you live elsewhere you need to check your local laws.

Love the model I think the usa made a mistake when thay chose the was spost to be cheaper and ended up not being over the faster and my opinion ten years ahead of the f22. I think canada should pick up the f23 and build it then thay would have the best aircraft in the world and would be able to do the missions thay the usa are not able to do with the f22 it would be a good complimentary to the f22 the usa flys.

This is misinformation spread by Northrop. Yes the yf-23 cruised at 1.64 and the yf-22 cruised at 1.52. The f-22 is a completely different plane. It super cruises at Mach 1.87 it’s much faster than the yf-23 or yf-22. It’s also lighter and smaller rcs. It looks similar but it’s a completely diff plane. The us gov told them they would not buy the F-22 if they didn’t improve it and make it surpass the yf-23. So lockeed May have not wanted to but they simply told them it has to be better. The gov kept control of the f-23 so they could go back and call Northrop back in the event they couldn’t produce a better plane which is now the f-22A

Also Northrop made a plane that would cost $75-100million more than the F-22. Skunkworks at that time was known for being on time and under budget. And Northrop was known for making ridiculously expensive stuff and late. So they already had shit not going for them. There answer was to build a b-2 type rcs. The air force didn’t want that. They had the b-2 for near invisible missions. They just wanted a fast f-117. That had a radar that doesn’t set off enemy rwrs. I love the yf-23 but in reality it’s not practical for a afterburning fighter. The amount of shit they put in it. It’s a complicated aircraft. The f-22a is faster and they were able to make the engines have no rcs. If you look at su-57 it has a lot of problems. One being the engines and nozzles light up on ir and radar both. The f-22 cools the nozzles also. And it gets rid of heat more efficiently than the yf23. Now was the yf-23 better than the yf-22? Yes it was better than the yf. But it’s not better than the f-22a for a fighter.
