Easy mods! I have ran the peak racing products one (same mounting spot) as the one you mentioned I’ve used it for a season and a half of GNCC/WNYOA racing w no issues and still using it now on the practice quad! Before that i just made my own using the ltr breather box and those work killer and its like 40 bucks! I might try the rp race one next i may have an opportunity to test one out and make a video of it similar location as the ltr box but its much more compact! I don’t like the look of the Walsh one as well it just blocks up too much of the engine view for my liking thats why i liked the peak one and even this one too! Good vid man!

Thanks! I really like this mounting location up front, and both Peak and 38 Motorsports have been great companies to work with. I actually watched a ton of your videos (and subscribed) to learn more about the YFZ that I built. Really appreciate the content you put out there!

In which order do the breather pipes connect to the black box at the back next to the coolant tank. Many thanks

So the catch can is a must for ais delete. My question is does the header pipe run any cooler with the delete kit? I noticed my quad glows red at idle
@AustinRohr2 жыл бұрын
It may help with engine temps to a degree but these machines run very hot period. A little glow isn't abnormal. They're race bikes and don't really like idling or slow speeds for staying cool.

Can you add a parts list links to their websites in your description?

Did you look at the Duncan Racing canister or did you like the 38 Motorsports one better? I believe the Duncan racing product does the same thing but I don’t know a ton about the AIS removal and have just started looking at it.
@AustinRohr4 жыл бұрын
@@brandon1607 I did! I don't think you could go wrong with the Duncan can, or any other for that matter. They all accomplish the same thing, it's really just a matter of preference. Also, deleting the AIS doesn't require you to use an oil catch can. For racing, it helps because when the machine gets hot and forces oil through those hoses, instead of dumping the oil on the ground and losing oil capacity it can cool down and be recycled back into the engine.

@Austin Rohr Great video. So, I don't race, but thinking of deleting the AIS. Can I keep the OEM breather box and hoses? I installed a new K&N filter but kept the OEM airbox. Thank you

How do you know which way the gasket under the block off plate orientates?
@AustinRohr Жыл бұрын
It's been awhile so forgive me if I'm not remembering correctly, but I believe it doesn't really make a difference. As long as it lines up with the bolt holes and the center hole you're in business.

What exactly is the reason for doing this?
@AustinRohr2 жыл бұрын
The AIS can cause some hesitation/bog and performance loss by recycling hot exhaust back into the intake. It also risks dumping dirty oil into the intake if the engine starts to fail or get too hot, which then gets sucked into the EFI system and causes a mess. The system only exists to meet EPA standards.

Does removing the AIS solenoid throw a check engine code?
@mchevownr Жыл бұрын
Yes if you have the OEM computer it will cause a cel. However, with a vortex ecu it has software that cancels the AIS system.
@DocAtrox4 жыл бұрын
So you have to get a oil breather box in order to do the AIS delete correct?
@gregriley97444 жыл бұрын
I have the same question
@KoolMada4 жыл бұрын
No
@danielreynoso89812 жыл бұрын
@Kool MaDa so, where do you plug in the OEM hoses if the AIS is deleted? Because two hoses plugs in to the AIS. One from the top of the engine and the other one from the bottom side of the engine. Sorry for my ignorance... lol. I'm all new to this

Do you have to install the 38 motorsports oil cooler if you delete the AIS?
@AustinRohr4 жыл бұрын
Technically no, but these YFZs are known for oil loss when they get hot. The breather box lets the oil cool and return to the motor, whereas if you run just the AIS and leave the breather hoses open that oil is dumped to the ground and lost. Also, those hoses are now exposed directly to the elements and could allow dust, sand, or dirt into the motor.

When you delete the ais will the check engine light come on ?
@AustinRohr4 жыл бұрын
No, it shouldn't. If you're seeing a check engine light, make sure to go over your work and connections. You should also see if you're receiving a specific code, which will tell you what may be wrong.
