I actually had an argument with somebody about how YG treated and held Blackpink back and they were so blinded by the lies YG had Blackpink give fans about wanting to put group activities first (what group activities?! The comebacks?!) and perfecting their solos (only Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo were ready). Clearly the members wanted so much more and the company wanted to keep them small to try to control them, but they never treated well enough to make them want to stay. Just watch them hold off on Blackpink activities and blame it on the girls for being too busy, when they don’t even try to give them a working timeline. Just look at how they tanked massive groups like Big Bang and 2NE1 as groups. Hybe was smart with BTS, by giving them stock in the company in exchange for their association allowing them to grow the popularity of their other artists until the artists firmly established themselves as huge acts, but YG was not going to give their artists anything like that. That company has been hemorrhaging artists like crazy the last few years and I can’t blame the artists, get out while you can.

People who don't understand how corporations operate...are apparently trying to make up "news" reports. So many things in this report are kind of silly. (1) They don't realize that YGE doesn't itself lose money if the price of shares go down for a few months. (2) They don't realize that YHS is taking advantage of it to increase the size of his shareholding percentage (already the largest among all shareholders) and will make huge profits when the market price goes up again. (3) They don't realize that a drop in "profits" in Q4 2023 compared to Q4 2022 was inevitable because Blackpink was raking in tons of money in their record-setting concert tour in Q4 2022 and the tour ended in Q3 2023...DUH! There was no big revenue-generating activity in Q4 2023 at YG. That's often the way it goes at entertainment companies. It's not like a business where every business quarter is supposed to be similar.

BP's tour ended before 4th Quarter 2023, but was going strong and raking in money in 2022. YG was doomed to fail ever since he has been holding back all of his popular groups that were topping the charts back in the days and took some groups for granted and never believed in their fullest potential. I'm glad Blackpink members have learned from their seniors and from other 3rd gen groups that were signed to YG to never renew their contract, only for solo activities, ever again. Now that they're all out as solo artists they can star in more variety shows, podcasts, modeling, dramas, release more solo songs, full solo album, and can collaborate with their favorite artists. I don’t know why you are totally oblivious to how YG heavily promotes Treasure. They are currently YG’s money maker selling out big dome & arena tours allover South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Macao & Southeast Asia. Their discography & album releases are many and very frequent. They have bountiful of products, merch & endorsements allover Asia. YG is finally allowing them to tour in the West. YG pours a lot of investments to Treasure including their own variety shows and even their Jikjin MV production cost broke records for how expensive it is. YG Market Stocks only suffers because traders are not looking beyond BP & their OG groups. YG actually has a future with Treasure and possibly with Baby Monster too with the announcement of Ahyeon’s return.

The only thing BB did in recent years was actually just a farewell song. After losing B.I., Ikon was struggling to stay even at the bottom of the top 10 Kpop boy groups. They got decent results, but neither Winner or Ikon or Treasure have come even close to dominating or even having Top 3 status for boy groups. YG was banking on at least one of them doing that, but it never happened and each group lost key members quite soon after debuted. Blackpink basically carried YG for the past 4 or 5 years...even though YG spent probably 20 times more money, time and effort in launching the boy groups than was ever spent on launching any girl group, including Blackpink. Baemon is the first girl group at YG that ever got boy-group levels of investment in pre-debut promotions.

They still have influence but we gotta admit that YG is limiting their artists' ability and lack of creativity for them to grow. No proper planning for a comeback, promotion, and activities will likely make their idols lose interest and passion as time goes by. Another big mistake of YG is the unequal treatment of the artists where they only focused on the famous ones as the sole money maker and failed to protect them from scandals (that's why they lost gems like GD, CL, B.I., Lee Hi, and Yedam).

YG isn’t going bankrupt anytime soon like many ppl think. They own most of YG Plus their subsidiary that is bringing billions of dollars bc of the HYBE music distribution deal. BP tour, YT channel, royalties are still bringing money. So it’s stupid to say they losing money bc they aren’t not they are just losing company value for investors to invest. YG wants investors but doesn't want to invest in their groups. They know that concerts and brand deals are where all the money's at. So they just have Teddy do production for solid music and rely on YG's legacy and affinity for scouting talent to do the rest. The name and music are just to attract deals and have enough songs to fill out a concert. This is Mr. YG's mentality and will sink the company. People are drawn to YG to become idols, not fashion slaves doing tons of concerts with the same setlist every year. Groups get sick of performing their current title track as it is. A situation where you have to do the same title tracks over and over for years sounds like an idol's nightmare, honestly.
