It will never die in our heart but it already died as a World and as a culture!! My husband remembered the pre-war culture and life in Poland and cried. My Jewish family left Poland very early, parts in the 1890s, but my two great great grandparents that I am researching the most left their hometown Wloclawek in 1907 and once they came to America and had children, their stories got lost. As a genealogist, I am trying to build some kind of a story myself of their life in Wloclawek, taking from my own sources as well as others who found information or an eyewitness to what Wloclawek was like back then. My great grandfather’s oldest brother was born there in 1906, but went to America with his mother in 1908, so he probably didn’t have any memory of Poland in his early childhood. Also, there are no pictures anymore of my great great grandparents’ parents or other relatives. Whether they even brought those things to America, or left it all behind, I will never know. Always remember to pass on stories of your life, your childhood, and our family- even if your children or relatives seem un-interested.

Istnieje pewne pole do budowy myśli. To też należy zrozumieć, że przez wiele stuleci, czyli dziesiątki dekad, Żydzi i Polacy żyli obok siebie, a zdarzało się, że polskie dawne historycznie władze zapraszały kupców żydowskich, by rozwijać handel i rozbudować dane miasto. Były różne losy. Warto zajrzeć w przeszłość. Też warto za pomocą muzyki, czegokolwiek, budować kulturę dobrych wspomnień.
