I always upset people (in America) when I write that the Blues and Jazz have their roots in Yiddish (Klezmer) and Gypsy traditions. The Jews and their musical traditions provided the melodies and basis of minor note laments that was taken up by others and reissued as Jazz and Blues (and therefore, Rock and Roll).

I am not Jewish but I can read and understand Yiddish because it is close to German. What a pity that their world in Odessa does not exist anymore. Jewish people are such a gift in any country. They are intelligent, clever, tolerant, work hard, ingenious, so much better than Muslims.
