Just halted my steep descent into severe depression today by remembering that chaos is also a creative force, and that part of working with it is patience and surrender. The pandemic can cause me to be rottenly stuck in what my ego perceives as "not-preferred," or it can grant me the chance to simmer, to heal, and to gain perspective--to resume the flow state where things happen in their own time. Thanks as always, George and Master Gu, for the timely reminders. Much love to you both and to all those who help you get these lessons out.

It is not you. It is your mind. Even if it went into depression. Step back ride the wave. You are not depressed. Your mind had depressive thoughts and you thought they were legitimate so your emotions perceived yourself in a low state. It's just one of the body's advanced processes but you got sucked in because you have consciousness. Realize how it works and let anything happen. It's kind of just a drama. Watch it and keep watching. Don't judge it. It's not bad. Is it? It's life. Is poop bad? No it's just a natural part of life. You can fuss about poop and have a horrible experience or you can wipe your ass and have peace. 😂

The wolves protect the river banks. No greater proof that linear thinking is a human failing.
@TheOleHermit

IMHO, the wolves simply find more food near the water, where their prey comes to drink. Predator vs prey, proof of the constant battle between yin and yang. It exists in everything. Good gun for self defense or bad gun for killing? Killing good or bad? good/bad. light/dark. male/female... Happiness and sadness are only relative to each other. We ebb and flow from one extreme to the other. But, a peaceful mind rests in the middle way. Without duality, it simply finds 'oneness'.😎

I don't agree with the second person it's about present and being yeah they obviously eat the deer and are smart enough to know where to get it. but the point is when they are missing it upsets the balance of the river because the deer are so destructive just by being. They aren't protecter of the rivers they just have an unknowingly affect to them. They like the monkeys are just being and are part of nature, nature is a balance once something is missing it upsets that balance. This why human superiority is so stupid because it ignores that other creatures exist through an evolution and survival mechanisms which would need intelligence and not Evey being needs a mega civilization to thrive, they aren't stuck with big questions of life so in away they are more free. Also modern civilization upsets that balance otherwise we wouldn't be facing an eccelerated climate change.

Master Gu calms me on a spiritual level... i never really let my mind open to this stuff because i was convinced it was a new age fad, when in reality it is an ancient practice that is good for you on a primal level. It has opened me to the fact that we are just part of this universe, the world does not live or end with us. Once we are gone, the universe continues to grow and develop, without notion of time, even if the universe ends, it is a new beginning, even nothingness is somethingness. Thanks so much for your videos, it helped me through a really rough time through remembering the fact that it will not last forever, it has also as i believe, brought me closer to my ancestors and allowed me to start living a simpler life.

I've been aware of this balance since I was a child, I didn't always see, but I knew it was there. When I look back at my, I see a child who had a chance to grow up within two different worlds, one with unconditional love & one with conditional love; one with structure using positive reinforcement & one with structure using negative reinforcement. These two worlds, though at odds with each other, gave this child an amazing gift of understanding (among other things). I am grateful. M

Hey George, great video. I love your master. I'm a 53 year old woman, a spiritual seeker like you. I was born and raised in Italy though I travelled throughout Europe and lived in London and Germany for a while. First time I went to Asia was when I was 23 because I wanted to visit Tibet inspired by spiritual books written by Lobsang Rampa. Unfortunately, when I arrived in Chengdu, China, I couldn't understand a word and my friend and I only knew a few basic sentences in English. We were told we could only visit Tibet with a guide and we were asked $1,000 each for the journey. We decided to go to Nepal instead, because we loved mountains so we did three treks in the Himalaya. The journey then proceeded with Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. During this first journey to Asia, I met a lot of women solo travellers and they made a huge impression on me. After about 8 months, my friend and I returned to Italy where my only obsession was to make enough money to go solo to Asia again. A couple of years later, I returned to Asia by myself, stayed in Nepal for a while, went to Thailand where I fell in love with another woman from New Zealand (yes, I'm gay), then together we went to India and... Africa! Yep, prevalently Kenya where we worked as volunteers, but we also stayed briefly in Uganda and entered Tanzania for a few days. My partner used to work in Japan as an English teacher so we decided to go to Japan to get a job. In Japan, I met a lot of incredible people who helped me a lot understanding myself and the Eastern approach to life. In particular, my Japanese teachers, my Taijichuan sensei and my Hari sensei (acupuncturist) patiently taught me how to unite myself again rather than being lost in thought all the time. After 5 years in Japan and the previous 2 years travelling, I broke up with my partner and returned to Europe because I got accepted at London Metropolitan University to do a Master's in applied linguistics. In Japan, I was studying and teaching English as well as attending a Japanese Language Academy. At that stage my life was not very healthy; I used to drink lots of coffee, smoke a lot of cigarettes and eat plenty of animal products. Once back to Europe, I went straight to see a girl whom I loved very much when I was younger and we got back together. Soon after, I had to undergo surgery twice for retinal detachment, after I recovered I told my girlfriend I wanted to go to London for the Master's but once in London I had a terrible health crisis which was then diagnosed as psychosis. I lost everything, my girlfriend loved someone else and left me! I went back to Italy, gradually started to get my life together also thanks to my parents' help. Finally, I managed to complete my Master Online with the Open University. In 2011 I decided to go vegan and quit smoking. After a period of profound meditation, I my heart told me that my job was done and I had to return to Asia. Fed up with relationships, my only intent was to find enlightenment or liberation. I stayed In Thailand for a while to get used to Asia then, Nepal, India, Thailand again, Myanmar (monastery for Vipassana Meditation), Malaysia (meditation centre). Then North of Thailand, Laos briefly and now I've been living in Cambodia since 2016. However, last year I did a prolonged fast, lost consciousness and had a clear vision of Heaven and me in it. When I regained consciousness, I saw two spirits laughing outside my window and another materialized in my room and told me "Ha ha, you will be reborn in Cambodia" then she dematerialized and vanished. Luckily my landlord broke into the apartment and took me to the hospital my body stiff and partially paralyzed by a neuromuscular condition, one eye centre of focus has been obscured by a dark spot right in the middle and I have vertigo whenever I stand up. My internal organs have suffered a lot as well and only now I feel my body gradually recovering. This is an example of when Yang takes over, I was very angry with the system, yes, the money system. In my life I've seen unspeakable atrocity for the sake of money. Today, I understand that it's not money at stake but our energy and the only way to win against energy vampires whose sole purpose is to get your attention, is to find peace in your mind. Meditation helps to stop the river of thoughts flooding our mind. The perfect ying yang balance is a fluid mind where thoughts arise and fall without ever getting attached to them. George, I love you and your master, thank you for helping us! 🤗😊😁

🤯I searched for this video hoping it existed on explaining yin yang and it’s literally changing my “mindset”. Stuck in patterns we’ve build to help us understand the world/people, we have to break them to see the world/people as they really are and not the filters we’ve applied to them. Danger/opportunity reminds me of the Japanese/Toyota principle of a problem is a golden egg of opportunity. ☺️

I like to watch your films, and I like to watch films about the "Ice Man" Wim Hof. Why not go to him one day and make a video with him. Some of the things he represents actually come from the eastern world. Like Tummo meditation. Tummo, which literally means ‘inner fire’, is an ancient meditation technique practiced by monks in Tibetan Buddhism.

Hi George, Thank you for your videos, i would like to share an experience: I was watching your videos since February and began feeling very relaxed because of that "let tao, let go". The last day of february, i went to a ski station for the week end and had an accident riding a sleigh! My leg was broken in four parts, so i was beginning to feel the pain, and i told myself: "-ok now we will try to apply this concept : If i try to fight against my pain , i will only make it worse. My only option is to give up on not feeling the pain." In matter of minutes i relaxed and concentrated on breathing deeply, repeating this last thought , and my leg didn't really hurt anymore. And i didn't have any painkillers until i was in the hospital(3h later). That was like ok . Since then i try to apply it very often and it really impressed me. Such extreme situation seeming so easy was incredible! I spent all the time listening to your videos and lectures on the Dao on KZbin While i was in bed repairing my leg. For this I thank you so much! I wish you Oneness with the Dao. Hernan w

Thank you for your videos! I started to watch tai chi videos because I wanted to learn how to do it. I have always been very active, but as I've gotten older, I have developed mobility issues. All of the injuries from the activities when I was younger have turned into arthritic pain in most of my joints. I thought that tai chi and qi gong would help, but the more that I learn about it, the more I realize that I have so much to learn! Interestingly, my mother was Tao Buddhist, but when she married my dad after the war, she had to become Christian! But she used to take me with her when I was very young to the Buddhist temple, I remember. Now as an aging woman, I finally realize that I has always had that legacy. My son is older, married and not a fan of Christianity. I have been passing bits of information that I find helpful to him, like these videos! Thank you!

Appreciate the Yin and Yang lesson. Its true we judge that which feels opposing, however, the experience will open new doors only if we allow it

Thank you very much. I follow Lao Tsu very closely but as an American living in America there are not ANY! that I could find, Taoist religious organizations! Maybe this is for the better. Any way Lao Tsu saves my life and you are helping too. Thanks man. These are great videos. Why do you think the Lao Tsu spread so much and not the religion? Is it because the religious adherents are too busy not-doing? Thanks man. Keep up the good work if you want!

Hello George, i need to subscribe to this.. coming to the channel after following Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Sadhguru, Thich Nhat Hanh, Alan Watts and reading bits of Tao Te Ching, it's safe to say I've confused myself and never follow any of the things they say, but your channel slows me down and brings me back to looking at the bigger picture. I'm trying to get to a stage where i let everything flow. Like, i try to let things take it's own course instead of trying to change any of it. The rhythm theory really hits home. Thanks mate.

Thanks George for your work, it is such incredible work you are doing!. Anxiety/depression/over-yang world has caused much dis-eases, my own over-doing/out of harmony has led me back to the path of leaning back into the basic tenent of Yin/Yang and reclaim my well-being. From "Crisis" to "peace", we are always on the path back to our own nature. Your videos are much informative, aesthetic pleasing, and fun to watch!
