@@ManlyTear I think people don't realize you can be super tanky in ER because compared to Dark Souls where you basically just slap on heavy armor and you're good, you have to find heavy armor and 20 other pieces of passive stat boosting equipment/spells/items and juggle them all in your inventory to apply multiple temporary buffs. Obviously you don't have to go to the extreme that Ymfah does since you probably aren't doing a challenge run where you just face tank literally everything thrown at you but it does get much more complicated than "I have heavy armor, I am tank now"

It's a reach, and unconfirmed by anything in the game, but it would be a very poetic addition to her character. All that power, and all that glory, and the only thing she can't do is go home and talk to the Grandmother again. I imagine her singing a lullaby to Godwyn, the only one of her children to not receive an awful curse at birth about how one day... One day she would take him to that village, and how Godwyn may have shared that lullaby with his Golden Lineage (all the way to Godrick) without ever being fully clear on what it meant.

And "And one day, we'llreurn together. To out home, bathed in rays of gold." makes a lot more sense when he's talking about Leyndell, the golden city, where he's from. You can't reurn to somewhere you never even knew existed. And you can argue since marika is from there, it kinda would be reurning to his home/roots. But that makes way less sense. And Shaman village was not a part of the lore yet. Not to mention, Godrick is a greedy bastard, he wants to be in his massive perfect golden city. Not return to his ancestral home.

Sekiro is Fromsofts most restrictive recent title in terms of build variety and as a result has the most finely tuned combat and difficulty in the series. When budget and time is finite, every option you add means you can't spend as much money and time on developing the ones you already have. Its why a super linear game is gonna have more production value in every second of gameplay than a bigass open world.

Real. I did a caster version of a tanky lifesteal build, using Malenia's great rune, with Endure on a weap, and playing for debuff/dps multi hit spells in melee and stance breaks. Bosses like Rellana & few others went down w/o me moving from my spot. half the time they were stunlocked, and before that it was funny seeing her desperately wailing away at me while my zamor's icestorm was both shredding her & sustaining me.

Something that nobody ever knows (which might have aided you in this run greatly) is that with colossal weapons (not swords), a riposte or backstab counts as 2 hits for a lot of enemies and bosses. Using the crimson dagger talisman would allow you to heal double the normal amount.

Fun fact, on certain enemies, if you use a dagger to do the critical, the crimson dagger talisman will proc twice. Examples of these include godskin nobles, omens, Midra.... Additionally, you can also get the crimson dagger talisman to proc twice when using a great katana to do the critical hits on certain enemies.

I tried it with a couple greatswords (not the guts sword) and kept dying. Then said "fuck it", pulled out the RoB, and he died the first attempt even though I was mainly a faith build. Bosses live or die based on what weapon you bring into it.

​@@herenihoHate to break it to you, but RoB was nerfed. Not quite into the ground, but any katana or greatsword is way better. If your gonna tell a fake story, just replace RoB with Blasphemous Blade

Greatswords do more damage than RoB -> they kill things faster -> they make the game easier RoB is good against malenia, due to the ash stunning her, and is at the specific distance where she doesn't do anything. But that's basically it. It even has less bleed than infusible weapons

Bigger number is only better if you have the skill and muscle memory to actually take advantage of that. It's also possible that they were just using a shitty greatsword build, too. Kinda has to be if they met the requirements for RoB, lol

for anyone interested, the first rune strat can be farmed indefinetly by using torrent and going to the grace just as the dragons death animation starts playing, if you get it right, you will sit on the grace, get the runes but the dragon will still be alive, you can kill the dragon as many times as you want as long as you're fast enough to the grace!

While this is true, something to be aware of is that you only get the relatively small amount of runes for the dragon itself, and not the huge amount of runes that you get for the baby dragons dying - it's probably more efficient to just cheese the dying dragon, bridge dragon, and Night Cavalry, then beeline for Mohg Palace and graduate straight to farming the bird.
