grit1 Here’s my thing I’m guessing people saw this movie because they had nostalgia for the original, and that’s fine but if you have nostalgia for the original and if you have kids that you want to share that nostalgia with why not just watch the original on dvd or if you have Disney plus watch it on there instead of this lifeless, soulless blatant cash grab of a remake

The only reason i watched it, despite my apprehension, was that i was on a week long vacation many miles from home by the beach and wanted something to do. This was literally the only interesting thing playing in the theatre near us, so i bit the bullet and watched this with my mom and grandmother (nice theatre too. Had comfy recliners). At first i thought it was meh, but later on after giving it alot of thought...yeah. This movie was awful and just felt pointless. Didn't help that just a week before the original was on TV in some of my resident's rooms and i almost stopped to watch it with them

I guarantee it's a huge bluff and the stick is removed for some other dumb reason, like it was a mistake or something. @@YMSHighlights A beautifully animated scene where Mufasa appears from the clouds and motivates Simba to become king? Nah, not so realistic at all. Let's make it more realistic by just adding more clouds to the sky and you kind of see Mufasa when lightning strikes occasionally. Now, that's more realistic! Jokes aside, the way the remake handled that scene infuriates me more than anything else in this movie.

When they were interviewing those kids and asked her about Beyonce, the way everyone laughed after she said "she smelled like unicorns and cotton candy" felt so ingenuine and forced, or when the actors praise the movie for it being "innovative", and of course they do it because its a job and saying anything negative about the company or their production is bad PR especially in the movie industry, but this circle of putting on a fake identity and praising something for being amazing, when it clearly is just a bland remake, is just, unpleasant. I think a good example of that was the Oscars 2017/18, can't remember which ones I watched on yms. I couldn't help but think, and its absolutely so for at the very least a few celebrities, they're surrounded by constant praise or at least affirmation , and they lose touch with reality and, for lack of a better phrase, being just normal. That's what I felt after seeing how a couple of them acted.

That’s entertainment for you. Ngl, I was happy that BLM blew up again because 1) it was great to see black actors voice their criticisms and experiences, and even in some cases, demands, from the industry. To not just be Yes Men and 2) there’s still racial and racist ways of the entertainment industry that for some reason is clinging onto liberalism and left wing ideology. Not saying it’s a bad thing but it seems forced and ignorant considering the lack of ongoing change the industry prides itself on.

For me, the worst part of this movie is seeing James Earl Jones clearly not giving a shit. Like, I've seen him in a lot of movies - including this really shitty cash-in trying to capitalize on Disney's first VHS release called "Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night" - and I have never seen him not try. But he clearly was not trying in this movie. Not that I blame him, because he put everything he had into that performance initially and why would you want to try and redo a performance where you already did your best? But really, the one question I'd like to ask Mr. Jones is why he did it. I mean, did you need the money that bad? Because if you do, you could have started a patreon. I'm sure there are thousands of people who would gladly pay a small monthly sum of money if it means that they never have to see you debase yourself like this.

All those questions have only one answer: It was very last second. I remember reading how they were originally going to cut the song out, but then eventually changed their mind not long after. It might be distracting to be slightly inaccurate by having the fruit juice be red instead of white? Bro, I was distracted the ENTIRE movie because no one was able to emote except Timon, and every single shot in the film was done better in the original. Lion King 2019 was my least favorite film of the entire year. Yes, even worse than Captain Marvel. What a total disaster.

The fact that you used a clip from “Kung pow enter the fist” shows just how amazing you are at judging a movie’s essence. I still quote to this day, “ My fist, to your face style, how ya like it?” And “what do you get when you cross an owl and a bungee cord?....My ass”

It baffles me how a corporation as HUGE as Disney could possibly fuck up The Lion King. It should not even be possible....but here we are. I mean would it have been THAT HARD to get the animators/voice actors and score directors back for one more hand animated Lion King? A Lion King Origins perhaps? Where we see Scar and Mufasa growing up? Maybe have it end at Simba's birth? I mean for fucks sake that is what the majority of people I know wanted...That is what I wanted...That would have been 100000 times better than this shit on a shingle...
