I know, right? Personally, I couldn't care less if a movie chooses to change a detail of the original story to add representation as long as said representation feels more naturally integrated into the plot, and if it's done badly or comes off as virtue signalling, I just find it mildly annoying/cringe. It seems odd to me that getting *legitimately enraged* by these movies has become the norm for so many people in this group, even though plenty of movies have been having blatant left-leaning political themes in them even before the 2010's came about (for instance, They Live!, a movie from 1988, is a pretty blatant satire of Reaganomics, which basically would've been the 80s equivalent of satirizing the Trump administration). More progressive takes on classic stories has been a thing for far longer than the far right likes to pretend it has, and I'm annoyed at how popular of a trend it's become for people online to bash a movie solely because it's "woke" (aka, it has politics that are slightly more liberal than they'd prefer, or not all the characters are white), especially when, in my humble opinion, it's such a non-issue to even bother getting worked up over, that the complaining you see from groups like The Daily Wire just comes across as looking pathetic.

The thing that gets me about conservative outrage is that not only is their criticism of a lack of originality taking away the wrong points, but they're not even good at showing that they're better. You'd think they would advertise and get out more stuff than a retelling of Snow White, another retelling of King Arthur, and not-Bluey. Hell, they'll even despise reimaginings and reboots that do take drastic departures and radically reinvent stuff in a great way if they still have politics that don't align with their's. She-Ra is one of the best current examples of how to reboot something and they despise it even more than a lot of grey sludge, boring af remakes because there's gay couples and overt queercoding in it.

I knew a guy who was home schooled. Not only as he socially rather stunted, but he was also forced to be vegetarian because that's what his parents were. Literally, the first time I saw him after he'd moved out to go to university, he pulled out a packet of salami and started eating slices as if that was the most natural thing to do in the world. Yeah, I know a number of people who were raised vegetarians that went a bit crazy for meat once they left home - like eating rare steaks and having meat in nearly every meal. Some did go back to being vegetarian when they were faced with their personal morals though. It was almost as though it was forbidden fruit and they went wild with the freedom. I've no doubt there will be some technology adjusting Rachel's voice in Snow White in some parts of the movie, but she is a very talented singer by herself and there's abundant evidence on the internet to confirm this. Meanwhile the only recent thing Brett has public is a duet with a country singer 7 months ago, which was almost certainly after Brett was chosen to be Snow White, and they needed a single video of her singing to qualify her to be Snow White in their movie.
