Gary Scott Thompson is the biggest winner of any of these movies when they come out. He created the characters in the first film, and even though he hasn’t had a major hand in the franchise since, he still receives residuals from every installment in the franchise. He unknowingly set the groundwork for one of the biggest franchises out there and can coast on that for the rest of his life.

Little fact, the first film is actually based on an article written by a reporter named Ken Li titled Racer X. The article was about illegal street racing in NY. @@CurlyMcNulty no, there was a 50’s B movie titled The Fast and the Furious by Roger Corman and the producer was able to license that title from Corman. To elaborate on The Rock and Vin's beef. Vin Diesel has built up a persona as this big tough guy despite being a legit DnD nerd and a total diva while working on these films. And The Rock really doesn't wanna keep getting sidelined in a big ensemble film while dealing with Vin's annoying persona. Rock would rather be the face of his own films. I hate how fast the "action, gunshots, reloads and hits all land on the beat of the trailer music" thing got run into the ground in the laziest way, because Hollywood and media corporations do what they do best: ripping off the ideas of those who are inherently creative and can actually come up with something original, and doing it worse, but a million times, until enough of the internet (or sometimes even general audiences if it gets bad enough, like the Inception horn being in every trailer until even your grandma was complaining about it) notice and scream "ENOUGH ALREADY". I don't know if it started with Baby Driver, but I've seen too many of these moments in trailers lately that are cringe-inducing with how simplistic and unimpressive the synchronizations and use of sounds are. Watching lazy trailer editors rip shit off ad-nauseum, for years, in an attempt to manufacture an emotional reaction from me because it might make me go "is like baby driver!" is insulting and soul-draining.
