It’s crazy cuz Yngwie can play all those notes exactly the same as he written it (live) versus Hendrix and or Clapton who rarely play it the same meaning also Rhoads who could double his own solos , yngwie is a true composer in that sense . Not knocking any of the other legends I mentioned . Fyi he claims he never listens to Hendrix yet it inspired him to pick up and play 🤔

@@tucko11 Agreed--they're all great guitarist. I remember when I was in my teens in the 80's, we used to debate who was "the greatest" guitarist. LOL. Some were in the EVH camp, some in the Page camp, some Rhodes. It was serious at the time and it got heated🤣 ,but now just seems so silly. They're all amazing in their own right and you really can't compare them. It's very subjective. But I'd argue that Malmsteen was one of the best simply because he opened an entire new genre and is not only technically awesome, but was also an inventor. Sure, there are guitarist now who can play faster and even cleaner, but YM opened the door and is so artistic. I'd say the same for Rhodes. There are technically better guitarist, but his artistic skills and style, IMO, are unmatched in the Metal genre. Page was very sloppy, especially compared to someone like YM, but how can anyone say he wasn't one of the greatest? The creativity, the feel,...Just can't compare some of them. Same for EVH--yes, there are technically better, but EVH blew the door open and he wrote awesome songs

I saw Yngwie in 1985 in Seattle. I was 15...and had just started playing a few months before i went to this show. Blown away is an understatement! I was 12 feet from him the entire show! It was fking transcendent! Nobody was doing this at that time! Nobody! And i loved classical music from an early age, and when i heard a guitar player doing some of the same stuff, i had to go see the dude. Black and Blue, and Saxxon also played that night. I never did learn how to shred like this, but it did light a fire for guitar playing. I'm still playing at 55 years old😂😊❤ my cool ass step-dad bought tickets and actually WENT WITH ME! 😂 He had on slacks, an argyle sweater, loafers😂😂i had holy jeans, leather jacket, an earing. You can make it. I was able to play a fast major scale up and down from obsesive practice. I strayed away from playing like that, now a fusion jazz guitarist at high level. But i dont recommend to copy other guitarists. Its ok to have influences. But find yourself in guitar. Play what makes you, YOU. Be true to yourself and for a while, play ONLY the things you like. Not to impress anyone, but to make yourself happy. The goal is to find yourself through music. It will be tough in the beginning. But i tell ypu rightnow, i cant live without playing, now that i can play exactly what i hear in my mind and feel in the feels. You’ll get there man. It kinda even helps with the ladies, but my stuff is more like explaing a science project; its esoteric and an erudite topic.
