3:44 just a tip: You can click, hold, and drag over to select multiple text inputs to type in the same values. Not really as useful for only two inputs, but good to know for future reference.

Cool method for jitter, but Blender brushes do actually have jitter functionality already built-in. In the tool settings for any brush, open the Stroke dropdown and you'll see a Jitter checkbox.
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
Did you try it? It doesn't jitter color
@ArjjacksАй бұрын
@@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif Not by default, no. If you want jittered colours, under Color Picker further up, you need to change Color to Gradient and then add some stops/flags set to whatever colours you like (or just change the colour mode from RGB to HSV and then set the flags at either end to pure red for all possible colours). Then underneath, there's a dropdown for Gradient Mapping, you need to make sure that's set to Repeat as well. Unless you're using a tablet, then you can set it to Pressure and use your pen pressure to activate the colour jittering.
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
@@Arjjacks yes. this trick has been around for a while. but it is not ideal since you need to rinse and repeat the process of setting colors in the color ramp when you try to change color. not as simple as picking a color from a color pallet
@ArjjacksАй бұрын
@@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif Mmmmmmmmm, yep. Can't argue with that. Still, now you could have multiple layers of jittering on top of each other, if you wanted.

Your brushes are such a treat as always, thanks a ton! I have a question regarding the texture painting mode in general. How you do controll stuff like occlusion in there? Compared to other 3D painting software and the sculpt mode, the Texture Painting mode kind of "projects" the brush onto the mesh so if your brush goes over an edge it will project it on the mesh behind it, creating lots of artifacts and things I notice way too late. It's a constant tug and pull to take out all these mistakes. Other than constantly masking the mesh, is there an approach you take for meshes that aren't perfectly round?

Glad you are enjoying them! Yes , you just stated the worst side of painting in blender haha! How I wish the brushes to follow surface normals to avoid this issue. But I got used to it. I try to reorient the surface I am painting on toward my screen all the time. it is not as fun but you get used to it soon....I reckon
@krysidian19 сағат бұрын
@@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif Ah alright good to know! I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this as the main issue with texture painting right now. Even more than missing texture layers in my opinion. It's odd to see it not mentioned much at all when searching for this problem online, I really thought I was going crazy because this isn't the default behavior in basically every other 3D painting app. But I haven't heard anyone bring this problem up yet, I really really hope it gets resolve soon. But thanks for the tip, I'll approach it like that as well I think!
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif19 сағат бұрын
@@krysidian maybe we are not getting layers by default anytime soon. But did you try Ucupaint or Paint System addons? They are so good that you wouldn't mind blender without layers anymore XD
@krysidian19 сағат бұрын
@@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif Yeah they're both really really good! Used Ucupaint for lots of baking recently as well. Having the texture system would speed these two up enourmously since shaders wouldn't need to be compiled every time but I'm glad it works at all using nodes ^^ That's why surface brushes are so high up my list, Layers can be recreated in a way with free addons but brushing along the normals is just a fundamentally missing feature :( Which is why I really hope that'll be tackled before the layer system when we ever get some kind of Texturing overhaul
@tieguaili3d298Ай бұрын
there's still a lot lacking before it matches 3d coat for handpainting, just getting colour jitter and layers wouldn't be enough to make it ideal but it would at least make it a viable option
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
That is not the point of this video at all. But you are right. It lacks in some aspects (which is expected for a all rounder software). Texture painting mode hardly met any major changes all these years. Yet it has lots of room for figuring out stuffs and workarounds for good workflow. I reckon it will gain massive strength once the devs get fully committed to improve it further.
@tieguaili3d298Ай бұрын
@@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif i was commenting mostly on the last bit where you said it's only a couple of features away from competing with the paid apps, but you are right that if the devs actually put some work into it instead of ignoring everything related to gamedev it'lll go far, 3d coat also hasn't had many upgrades on the texturing side in many years and pretty much hangs on the fact that is has the basic tools + a solid responsive brush engine and both of those are achievable by blender's team
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
@@tieguaili3d298 oh! I understand the confusion. that is right. By ''painting software''. I was referring to 2d ones. (I was being sarcastic actually. blender doesn't need to compete with 2d software at all XD)I should have phrased it better
@tieguaili3d298Ай бұрын
@@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif ahh yeah blender can't and should'nt waste time and effort trying to compete with the likes of photoshop, krita, clip studio, rebelle etc. but it's cool there's a chance for them compete with the likes of 3d coat for handpainting

Is so beautiful, I love it, I supose that if you dont want any shading on the actual model you are painting in the emission channel?, or how do yo make that the original model has no shadows in it?
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
Thank you! It is something similar. but I didn't need to use emission channel.It is the viewport unlit mode. In fact you can get the file from the link to inspect it!

Nice! 🎨🍎 I remember I stopped hand painting textures in Blender because of lag issues - would you say that was resolved in the latest version?
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
It happens for a number of reasons. big textures are one of them. but there are things you can try to manage lag. for instance don't go above 4k if you have less vram. try changing brush sizes. also try adjusting pressure sensitivity setting. perhaps turn it off for opacity while keeping it at around 90 percent during initial phase of painting .

Hello. These brushes are really amazing. Im new to blender, and Im looking for some brushes like these, but for 2D animations. Can be these used in 2D too?
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif12 күн бұрын
Hey! Sorry for late reply! But these brushes should be very easier to make in painting softwares since they have very nice built in jitter functions. If you wish to find a ready pack perhaps you can try searching with ' graphical, spiderverse' etc keywords.
@SaeedAbdulsattar-m6p5 күн бұрын
hello, is there any hope you'd post a video teaching how to make custom brushes and adding them to blender ? there isn't content like that on youtube, and as a 3rd world viewer it is my only way of implementing your art style to my personal projects.
