I honestly liked the Idea of Tarble. Vegeta's younger brother who was like the complete opposite of him. And the special felt like it had that Toriyama charm from the OG Dragon Ball show.

I really loved the art style in that special. Felt like classic Dragonball and oddly enough with that art style, we saw goku and Vegeta in their base for a short period of time looking like they were in super Saiyan God and when they went super Saiyan, they had blue hair. I wonder if toriyama took inspiration from this special in order to create those forms we saw in battle of God's and ressurestion f

I basically never comment on KZbin, but I really wanted to say thank you for all of the great content you provide! You’re page is literally the only one that I have set for notifications. I always thought myself to be somewhat of a DB expert. At least in terms of the anime. You opened my eyes to how wrong I was and have already taught me so damned much, I’m honestly amazed. Keep up the great work, and thank you again!

Back then, after Dragon Ball GT, they stopped making more Dragon Ball anime, but they made MORE Dragon Ball VIDEO GAMES. THAT is how SPECIAL DBZ was! I understand some of you DESPISE Dragon Ball SUPER, but I personally was *HAPPY* that Dragon Ball Super came about and i bet A LOT OF OTHER people were too! Dragon Ball Super proved that Dragon Ball ISN'T JUST a 90S thing. Dragon Ball is *LONG LASTING*!!!

It's surreal to think this actually came out 10 years ago!! I remember like it was yesterday; going to Shueisha's website, downloading some extention for the video player, and watching it on my old PC. The stream worked surprisingly well, because I had my doubts that it would work properly. But man, it was an absolute joy to see something NEW of a series that you knew front and back. It was a different time back then. What was also cool is that around that time, the early Buu saga orange bricks were coming out, and I was enjoying that era of Kikuchi' s music with the dub, so I was getting very familiar with all the music in this special. They really used some of Kikuchi's greatest hits for it, as I'm a fan of his jazzier, upbeat style in the later stuff. Good memories!!

I love this special. When I did a complete rewatch of the whole series about a year or so ago, after slogging through GT and Episode of Bardock I got to this special. It's so enjoyable. One of the biggest things was the Kikuchi score, makes such a huge difference especially coming off of GT. All the characters get a moment, even Umigame when Goku calls him Umigomi (block head), such a great call back. The pacing is great too; no scene feels like it drags on. I'm probably in the minority but this is by far my favourite special. The Bardock and Trunks specials may be objectively better but I just get way too much enjoyment out of it. It's almost as though Dragon Ball is a light hearted wacky series that you're not supposed to take too seriously. Just as a side note; Yamcha is using the Sokidan in that scene, for some reason they gave him a wolf face, though Gotenks does use the Roga fufu-ken and of all of Tenshinhan's techniques he does the Haikyu-ken (Volleyball technique). Speaking of Tenshinhan, he and Chaozu do not appear in this special. Tenshinhan's voice actor had recently passed away so it was likely done out of respect and it's easy enough to write them out, saying that they were training in the mountains. Maybe he did get an invite but heard Lunch was going and thought he'd pass on it.
@GoldStorm076 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love this special, it displays what I think is Dragon Ball's biggest strength nowadays: the comedy between its characters. The power escalation has long since broken any real tension in the story but the antics of the main cast always get a chuckle out of me.

Hi Geekdom, sir! Muchos saludos, keep the excellent work!
