In an interview Leslie Odom Jr (Aaron Burr) said that the story of tonight was the song that left the biggest impression on him. The reason was that it was the first time he saw four men of color on a stage singing together about friendship and brotherhood. Even though he wasn't in the song he was really affected by it.

Laurens and Hamilton were actually rumored to have a relationship back in the day. Many people found out that they were sending practically like love letters to each other and that they had a oddly romantic “friendship”. If you pay attention, the Hamilton cast tried to portray that. So the “Laurens I like you a lot" has a deeper meaning lmao. I think even Anthony, the actor that played Laurens, said that he heard about the Hamilton and Laurens situation.

But like a *jealous lover* , when I thought you slighted my caresses, my affection was alarmed and my vanity piqued.” And then as the wedding gets closer and John is trying to be distant and give excuses to why he is not writing more frequentely, Alex writes in his next letter: “In spite of Schylers black eyes, I have still a part for the public and another for you; so your impatience to have me married is misplaced; a strange cure by the way, *as if after matrimony I was to be less devoted then I am now* ”

I really like imagining this is how it happened even though historically the musical takes a lot of liberties. Hercules Mulligan was one of Hamilton's first friends and one of the first people he met coming to America, he met John Lawrence and Lafayette during the war, Mulligan was never recorded to have met the other two guys. History is sometimes more interesting than fiction though, Hamilton, Lawrence, and Lafayette were all just as, if not more badass in combat than they are depicted in the musical. Lafayette has absolute mythological legend status in US history, every battle he lead he demolished, Hamilton as a soldier stole the cannons right off a british ship and the one he personally took as a pet of sorts throughout the war, someone wrote that he would often pet the cannon while he was deep in thought, that shit was a trophy. Not to mention when he lead in the battle of Yorktown he lead the US to a decisive victory, all without firing a single shot. They crept on the British forces and led the hardest Bayonet charge in history, wiping the British with melee weapons alone. Also its heavily theorized through old letters that Lawrence and Hamilton were getting it on during the war, Hamilton wrote the homie love letters, the ones released to the public are very romantic to say the least, apparently the ones unreleased are straight vulgar lol.

The next video might be best as just The Schuyler Sisters unless you're able to do 3 songs in one video, because Farmer Refuted fades really nicely into You'll Be Back. I think Schuyler Sisters works well as a stand alone as it throws quite a bit at you. Also shout outs to Anthony Ramos (John Laurens) in The Story of Tonight. His voice is soo beautiful. I hope that when you finish your reactions you're able to sit and watch the whole thing all the way through without breaks. Or, idk how difficult it would be to do but if you recorded your reaction to the whole thing in one sitting or at least less split up than it is currently, and then went in afterwards and cut it into pieces of 1-2/3 songs however you'd want to do that. I know that'd be a lot more editing and probably more time-consuming but that may be a better viewing experience for you. If you like the way you're doing it now, though, then I wouldn't worry about it.

From an historical perspective, none of this actually happened. There was literally no time in history where Gilbert de Motier (the Marquis of Lafayette, which is a place in France... it was his title, not his name; it put the man somewhere between a Count and a Duke in terms of noble title). John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan, Aaron Burr, and Alexander Hamilton were all together in one room at the same time. To give you an example, Hamilton never met Lafayette until *after* he became Washington's aide. Alexander Hamilton knew all of them, but he never met them all at once. Its a great song, but as history its nonsense. Some of the others, in fact, never met at all.

The reason Hamilton doesn't really lay out who he is and moreso talks about his drive and ambition is because at this point he isn't really anyone. This is a story about how he makes that legacy for himself. At this point he's just a meek 19 year old with more ambition and drive than is really healthy. He's never really had solid long time friends before these people, and he's probably always been a little hesitant to make those connections before coming to America because everyone else that was a major connection in his life before then either left him or died. That's how I always interpret it, anyway.

"Let's have another round tonight." The poor bartender at Fraunces Tavern... he either had to cut them off when they were already shitfaced, or he said "fuck it" and let them get more shitfaced.

The one time I have most related to a cartoon character was Stewie Griffin singing Alexander Hamilton...

Hey yobgs, you should react to some of the deleted songs in Hamilton, “let it go” and “ten things one thing” are some good ones

Interesting theory: There are people who think that Hamiltons and Laurens Relationship may have been more that just friends. Certainly the language that Hamilton uses in letters to Laurens is much more affectionate then it is in most other letters to his friends. And If you look at Laurens Bodylanguage in the musical, they seem to give a nod to that, him being a bit closer and holding gazes a bit longer than you might usually do. This is specualtion, though, so take it with a grain of salt

Some people think John Laurens and Alexander Hamilton had some sort of romantic relationship as one of the letters that Hamilton sent Laurens said that he loved him and some of the letters they sent to each other say they might’ve had a romantic/sexual relationship

If you liked their voices wait for songs solo songs of burr or Washington. By the way I would love to get more of these so upload every day in my opinion it would be amazing. And maybe after you should do the full musical together.

One thing I’m gonna suggest, since you are a radio DJ I think you’d really enjoy this vid but you have to finish all the songs of Hamilton before you watch this vid, It’s called Hamilton in seven minutes It’ll be the first vid when you look it up.

YoBGS, could you please react to "WW2 from FInland's perspective" by The Armchair Historian? It's a really great video and hopefully lets you see also the less known events of WW2 from a european, or in this case, finnish, perspective.
