This episode is special to me as I myself have dealt with autoimmune hypothyroid for the past 15 years or more. Sometimes whatever workout you do, whatever healthy food you eat does not seem to matter when it comes to suffering from hypothyroid. Hopefully this video will help you work on better activation of your thyroid gland and help you deal with all the symptoms of having a thyroid issue better!

The thumb rule is don't do anything if you feel pain. So you can try doing all the videos for legs or lower body. If you try anything for upper body then ensure you are not in pain.

Hi Rashmi, Kudos to you for creating this channel and its great content! Thanks for sharing your thyroid journey with us. I’ve been on treatment for hypothyroidism for about 10 years now and I’m working with my doctor to see if I can reduce my dose. I would like to start practicing these asanas that you’ve shown us here more regularly to help with that. What would be your recommendation on the number of repeats, duration of hold and frequency each week for these asanas for someone like me actively trying to work on my condition? Many thanks in advance for your inputs and for everything you do!

You can do these everyday and hold for 5 to 7 long breaths. Or you could just do it with the video. But also focus on your diet.

Yes you can practice these for hyper thyroid as well. But your diet and lifestyle make more of a difference to cure yourself. Stopping dairy and gluten has helped me a lot.

Thanks so much for the video. I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few years back and have been on medication since. Over the past one year, I have been consciously trying to take care of myself by adopting a healthier lifestyle: have been trying to eat clean and also be more active. I have started learning yoga and really enjoy it; have been incorporating elements from your videos into my practice. I have a diet related query: you said you avoid dairy (which I realise is suggested by many nutritionists) but at the same time it is said that dairy products contain iodine which is needed for improving thyroid function. Could you throw more light on this, would be of help.

Hey. So you can get your iodine levels checked with a blood test to see if they are normal. The kind of milk we get today doesn't have any nutrition let alone all the animal cruelty and additional hormones added to them. There are natural sources of iodine like bananas, potatoes, sea weed etc... As long as you are not deficient you should be ok...you could consult a doctor. I am not a doctor but I have not consumed milk and milk products for over 10 years and I'm fine.

Hi rashmi, i love all of you videos thankyou so much. I just did this as i have fatigue and wonder if its thyrooid related. In the UK they test thyroid function differently to most othe coutries so its very hard to get thyroid dysfunction diagnosed and very frustrating. after the headstand i felt very emotional all of a sudden and tears actually came to my eyes which i didnt expect at all, i think the htyroid is very related to emotions and experiences too! thankyou for this. i want to ask when yu are in the fish pose how should your jaw be? should i have my teeth together or should i relax my jaw and let it fall? thankyou xxx

Hi Martha thanks for writing in. In the fish pose you can keep your jaw relaxed and you don’t have to clench your teeth together. Hope you feel fresh and energetic with this practice very soon 😊❤️

Hi Bhavna, you can slowly build strength and try to do it. Alternatively try to activate the throat and neck area by touching your chin to your chest in the sitting position and breathe with ujjai breath. Till you're able to do the shoulder stand and other variations this should help.

Diet is the most important factor when trying to lose weight. This video alone is not enough. Along with exercising for at least an hour everyday you must speak to a nutritionist and get help

Hello Ma'am, I'm 21 years old and I have Hypothyroidism and I'm unable to gain weight. I barely look like a 21-year-old :( So can you suggest yogasanas to gain weight? Based on BMI currently, I'm underweight. Also Ma'am I've (re)learned doing Shirshan by watching your video. When I was a kid my mom made me do Shirshasan and after few years I couldn't practice it. Hello. Thanks for sharing this video. I just started yoga again, after about a year off, and my thyroid is acting up after yoga exercise. Is that an indication that I should keep going or should I stop. I used to feel great and rejuvenated when I did Yoga, but now, my thyroid is not letting me feel good. Thanks.

You can practice this whole sequence everyday. You don't have to keep repeating fish pose and camel pose many times a day.

You can try Monday motivation and Tuesday toning in the weekly workouts. They have lots of leg and lower body exercises.
