I cried like a baby when Adriene started acknowledging that we might feel numb and empty. I've felt that way for weeks and I've been trying to ignore it and just power through the days, doing my 30 days of Home. Cried again at the end when she said to thank yourself. It's so easy to get caught up in what you aren't doing well enough, where you're weak. It's much harder to acknowledge your strength. Thank you for this.

You see me, Adriene. You know, without me telling you, my depression has been running high. Because I'm not the only one. I've done this video twice now this week because I need it. It's easy but gets my blood flowing which in turn settles my mind. Blood flow is so key to mental health. I know "dead' is in relation to Halloween but it's also just so fitting to how I've been feeling. My depression has been roaring for so long and I'm so tired of those nasty thoughts. It feels like my mind is slowly killing me but when I crawl onto the mat yoga helps me battle those thoughts back into a big creek instead of the amazon river. So thank you for "being there" for me and for everyone else who fights this same battle. You are a light in people's darkness. Your themes, your comments, your jokes, Benji, they all accumulate and are helpful. I appreciate you encouraging people to take action for their self-care and even to take action and vote. I see you on social media. lol Your message of telling people their in/actions matter and have consequences. No matter how small an action, no matter how obscure a person feels they all contribute to the whole that is life. Thank you

On top of yoga I highly recommend daily meditation practice, starting from 5 min and increasing slowly to at least 15-20 mins per day, more is always better. I think it's the best thing anyone can do for their mental health. It's a hard practice, because you have to face everything that is inside you, but through that you will learn that your thoughts & emotions are not You, but just something you (the real you!) can observe peacefully. It truly changes your life when you learn to do that. All the light and love in the world is right inside you, just waiting to be discovered. Sending you love and hugs from Finland ❤

I wonder if there's scope for more practices like this? Like 'Yoga for when you messed up,' 'Yoga for when You're Sulking,' 'Yoga for when you've lost your sense of humour,' 'Yoga for when you don't want to do yoga'... if this practice is anything to go on I believe you would bring both respect to the experiences and the possibility for a little breath of lightness and shift. What I learned from today's practice is that sometimes we aren't ready for the shift until we've acknowledged the state. For instance, we might not click 'Yoga for Self-Forgiveness' say, if we're still in the 'I messed up' headset? Thank you, as ever, Adriene x

Perfect timing. I've been feeling dead inside ever since I started doing school remotely. I'm glad to always have you by my side, Adriene, particularly this weekend which has led me to having a panic attack. I don't know what I would have done without your yoga videos that are there every day to remind me of where I'm headed in life and why I'm headed there. It's something that I feel I have lost sense of ever since I started school, that sense of purpose and direction. You are not alone. I had to tell my two teen boys they are going back to online schooling since the numbers here began to climb, the school building is being shut down. Dead inside is sort of an understatement.

I know this supposed to be a light themed Halloween video but I have been doing this video whenever the NARC abuse i'm facing leaves my nervous system in a state of Freeze. When your nervous system is in freeze state (one of the reasons is such narc abuse) your prefrontal cortex (thinking Brain) goes offline and your Amgydala (anxious brain) is highly active. But doing this video helps shift your nervous system to PNS (peripheral nervous system) state (rest and digest state) and you're literally rewiring your nervous system and brain to feel safe.I'm so grateful for this video, thank you A❤

We love you too, Adriene! This one got me moving again, with much the same effect as when we practiced it last year. I did roll back and nearly hit my head on the wall, lol, when moving the backs of the knees into the elbow creased. And then there was that bit at the end on our backs with legs raised. Adriene mentioned it being silly and prompted us to move faster. I kept wondering what she was talking about until I looked over at the video and was reminded that we were to MOVE the legs. Forgot that! Still day 25. 386 days in a row.

Thumbs up if you love how Adriene reminds you to be gentle to yourself. Moving your body more gently. Thinking gentle kind thoughts. And focusing more on intentionality and unconditional love for yourself. 💕 LOVE ALL THAT YOU DO ADRIENE!

Thank you so much for this episode, and for the permission to really feel "dead inside!" I cried almost the whole way through, and it's like a whole bundle of repressed emotions came pouring out of me. I feel totally rejuvenated after shedding that weight.

Feeling grateful for this one 🙏🏻 I've felt a lot of grief over the past few months : I lost a dear friend of mine to cancer, my long-term relationship ended and I moved back home, after living abroad for years, all while watching the world go through so much hardship. I've been struggling to encourage myself to get on the mat through all of this, feeling physically and emotionally empty, so I couldn't help but smile when you said "i lovingly invite you to try". Well, I tried and cried and cursed and giggled and felt an overwhelming sense of 'welcome home'. Thank you, Adriene, for always being there and reminding me that the mat and this beautiful, communal practice, always has my back! ♥🍃

This yoga practice is one I never knew I needed. I didn't expect the shaking to be such a great channel to release all those pent-up emotions and negative energy I've been having that I started crying after doing it for a while. I'm feeling so much better after the release. Thank you Adriene, for your simple ways to bring light into our lives when we are in darkness. ❤

my family and I got COVID-19 almost 2 months ago. this includes me, my dad, my younger sister, my mom (which is a breast cancer survivor) and my grandparents, both with chronic conditions and diseases. my grandpa couldn't make it. it has been 1 month and a half and it's still the hardest thing I've ever gone through in my whole life. going through grief while you're also trying to recover and help the rest of your family members do the same really makes you feel drained, tired, hopeless and basically dead inside. what I know for sure is that this practice will help me tremendously, Adriene, and I'm so thankful for having you because you always seem to know what some of us are going through and do your best to help us ❤️ I know this was meant for Halloween, but your whole channel is a blessing and I know I'm gonna find a practice for everything!

Came for the Halloween theme (this was literally the best intro ever), stayed for the mental shift. This was an awesome routine - my week has been emotional hell at work and I really needed this slow down and introspection.

PLAY 🪁 | October 29, 2022 | This practice for sure wakes up the powerful flow of our breath, I wasn't really feeling dead inside today, but this still did the trick! I love the dead bug pose at the end, there's something very freeing about shaking your limbs! Play is almost a wrap! Can't wait to see what's waiting on the calendar in November! 🙏

Saw this after not being on my mat for literally like 6 months, just every day the same old sit on the couch, watch tv until it's time to sleep, repeat. Showed up today just to see what was new on the channel and saw this. How does Adriene always know what we need?!

Hey Adriene, I know you probably won't see this but I began yoga by watching your videos a few months ago and it's the only physical activity that I find myself actually yearning to do. This one in particular struck a chord for me, it's been the most stressful month of my life and every single day has been nonstop in every aspect of my life. I forced myself to practice for the first time in a week today because of how busy I've been and this video popped up; it was the first time I actively expressed gratitude in a little over a week as well, and ngl, it brought me to tears lol. Just wanted you/anyone who happens to be reading this who may not know if yoga is worth it to start, to know that it definitely is and that it's changed my life and has definitely made today in particular take a 180 degree turn. I am so grateful to have found your channel. Thank you!!!

My favourite youtube channel cuz: A) it’s Adriene B) it’s at home yoga C) all humans(and pets) in this community are so kind and caring and supportive! The comments section proves how much gentleness is there in the world if we’re willing to look in the right places D) it is absolutely incredible: the things you do on the mat and how they affect your life off the mat. I am an interning doctor and have been super busy off late and just 20-30 minutes completely change my outlook on the work I have to do. The hip openers always leave me super emotional and in tears for some reason and that is so cathartic and liberating. Lots of love and light to you all!

When I first came across this video a couple of weeks ago, I was struck by the title and thought it was silly but I was curious. Here I am just 2 weeks later, feeling dead inside and haven’t been able to shake it for the last couple of days and this video calls to me. Thank you for normalizing feelings with the pure sense of acknowledgement that we can feel dead inside and that’s okay. And for reminding us that we are still worthy of this beautiful life. There’s a subtly that was touched in me under the numbness. Thank you and namaste Adrian

Perfect timing for this, haven't been able to enjoy anything lately and haven't done yoga in months. Now if I can just find a way to distract the toddlers so I can actually focus on myself for 30 min. without becoming a human jungle gym...

Thank you so much Adriene, the past week has been hectic with a breakup with my girlfriend and I have felt pretty down and out. This practice made me realize that there is so much love for me in the universe (from yoga with you, friends, family, strangers) and there is no need to keep my head down. All things are temporary, but the strength and the willingness to say yes and to accept where you are at is always present. Thank you for the constant reminders to accept, love, and stay present. You help me feel alive everyday. Sending love from Waterloo, Ontario!

Hello Adriene, I say thank you to myself for having found the energy to come onto the mat with you, because I knew without a doubt that you would help me deal with a particularly difficult day. But I especially and deeply thank YOU for being who you are, for doing what you do, and for truly caring for us. I have been following you for years, and at first you seemed like a child to me but I was still already impressed with your depth of heart, your knowledge of yoga and of your utter true kindness and bienveillance (sorry, I can’t find the equivalent in English). And now, maybe fifteen years later you have grown as a woman, as a human being, and as a teacher. I am honoured to be among your followers. Thank you.
