This is very good; I wonder if you might have any suggestions for working on turning the hands around backwards to more closely approximate the hand position in urdhva dhanurasana while working on the shoulders in this manner?

Hi. Have you seen the Video titled "Basic backbend Yoga Sequence"? Here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHKxoKKDYqaeqqs Toward the end of this video (at 12:41 minutes in) I demonstrate how to place the hands fro Urdhva Dhanurasana whilst lying on a bolster and positioning the arms. This can be done with the bricks under the hands. The bricks can also be on an angle (angled up the wall) so it's a bit easier on the wrists. Let me know if that's at all helpful and in the meantime I'll think about how else we can work and perhaps include in a future video.

@@IyengarYogawithHeather Why yes, very helpful; that’s a perfect suggestion! Thank you so much for taking the time to point out the video and guide me to the exact right spot! I’ve also tried working with holding a dowel, palms facing away from the shoulders, for resistance so I can work on moving the elbows in toward each other. Mine tend to splay out quite a bit. Now if I can just get elbows and wrists to behave at the same time … 😊
