My sister endured terrible sciatica pain and lower body weakness for three years. Steroid injections provided some relief, but the discomfort returned. The pandemic then struck, forcing a postponement of her operation just as she was about to check in to the hospital for it. She thankfully came across yoga and started taking some online yoga sessions, and lo and behold, after many months of devoted practice, she excitedly reported to her doctor that her sciatica pain was gone. She is now fully operational and in better health than before. She has been pain-free for a number of years. I'm following in her footsteps in the hopes that I can heal from my recent spinal stenosis diagnosis. It seems like the yoga technique is the most effective exercise I've attempted so far. I appreciate you providing these exercises.

Yesterday I couldn’t walk from the pain in my left hip and back.. and I was searching on KZbin to find some help and I find You 🙏 After 20 minutes working with you I recovered from the pain. I did see my doctor thinking I was heading for a hip replacement. I was shocked when he looked at some X-rays and said it was arthritis in my lower back pinching my Sciatic nerve. These exercises have really helped

I’m a yoga teacher with chronic back pain & herniated discs, and that is the absolute best cuing I’ve ever heard for Sphinx pose. So many people say they don’t feel this pose. Oh that is WONDERFUL Sharmina! I always tell my students with sciatica pain, when all else fails try putting your legs up the wall like that. Staying for 5 minutes is a great because it not only helps to create space in the low back and hamstrings, but it helps to relax your whole body and welcome a state of balanced energy - all of which helps with sciatica. I'm so happy this is helping you! 🙏

you are God-sent. I bent badly to pick up something yesterday and when standing I felt a snap in my side. Since then I have walking around like a car with a twisted chassis and needing to go on an alignment stand. (You should see me trying to stand up) When I saw your video ..I simply leaned to the opposite direction and "Bingo!" I'm young again!!!

I have a bulged disc from a rear end accident from 2013. The first stretches helped me. Couldn't get passed the first one because of how much pain I'm in. I did it for 5 minutes on and off and then did some other ones they taught me from physical therapy. It has relieved so much pain right now. Thank you! 🥰

Hi Christina! I'm so sorry that you're suffering from this pain. I'm happy to hear the first stretches helped you. When doing these, or any stretches always try and be gentle and avoid forcing yourself into any stretch that feels painful or unreasonable in your body. It's better to just stretch a little bit each day, rather that trying to push yourself too far all at once. I'm glad you're combining these stretches with the ones you learned in physical therapy! Just keep listening to your body and do the exercises and stretches that feel intuitively good in your body. May you continue on a path of healing 🙏💓

I've been diagnosed by my doctor that I suffer from Bone Spurs (Osteophytes): and was restricted from taking Diclophenac and ibuprofen, but only take paracetamol which does help a bit. After watching your video, I'll try and follow your simple exercise and see how it'll go.. Of course I'll be very careful as the pain is intense on right side stemming from lower right back. Thank you for this, David! I had pain for a few months and stuff from a physio were not working. After trying your stretches and exercises, I found relief and improvement every day. It's been about two months and there is still a bit of pain, but it's much better than before. I was doing everything twice a day, but it seems I only need to do it once a day now (I think).

Thank you so much! The stretches took away the pain instantly! I was at the point of crying..luckily I found this and I am relieved..I was able to do all of those poses except the one with the tennis ball and the foam roller but all's well! I'll buy a tennis ball soon. thanks once again!

I love the pigeon on the table! Sitting on the floor aggravates my sciatica, but I can actually focus on the benefit of the pose when my bent leg is on the table. Great modification - thank you!

Thx David. You are a saviour. Seems like i have chronic sciatic pain coz its keep coming back after 2-3 months. I have been to chiropractors but they will never tell me the real fix rather keep booking me for appointments hence minting money out of my insurance. Gonna try these stretches from now on and hope to fix this problem once and for all.

Thanks so much David. I’m finding the exercises on the piriformis really helpful. I’m doing them all. The tennis ball idea is inspired. For me i found it works well, as a gentle start, standing, rolling the ball between hip & kitchen worktop edge. Best wishes.
