I've been searching for a full and perfect guide to surya namaskar. I checked out like almost 10 of them. THIS IS THE BEST ONE FOR BEGINNERS. she even told when to inhale and exhale, which is damn crucial but isn't mentioned in most of the videos I saw. This channel deserves more. It's underrated. Keep uploading! I loved your work, honestly!

Excellent Madam.. What is the advisable pace of the 12 poses? Do we need to go in slow count as shown in the video or in Cardio mode?

HI Shibu, this video is perfect for warm up as we start slow with 3 rounds then fast for cardio purpose and after that slow with max stretches for recovery (recovery of high breath and muscles) So if u can follow the same pace for around 20 days you can gain lots of flexibility and endurance and then u can repeat the whole video for more strength. 21 rounds are more than enough which will take around 30 min. Its itself is a full workout.

You said 8 parts should touch the floor in Ashtang and it also makes sense as Asht means 8. Could you please explain what 8 parts, I can count only 7 parts. What am I missing?

Ashta means 8 and anga means body parts, so ashtanga means 8 body parts touching the ground which are 2 toes, 2 knees, 2 palms chest and chin. One can choose forehead instead of chin.

Hi Shikha, you got it right. In first half right leg goes back, and left leg is in the front ...while coming back we instruct like left leg front (which means same) that is left leg comes in front and right leg is back. Hi, we follow satyananda/Bihar yoga style of yoga.Plank is not there however while going through parvatasana(Mountain) to Ashtang we can experience a slight plank. But separately there is no description of plank in this style of surya namaskar.

HI Manoj, for reducing weight I guess major role is of diet. To keep up fitness with flexibility and strength we should do 11 rounds or max 21 rounds are more than enough.

duide you're missing instructions in between of both breathing and the posture. i couldn't follow along. you're expecting us to know the posture after hearing the name. beginners cant do that. hence I looking at a follow along video. i had to stop and go back and forth

This is not how you do Surya namaskar... Parwatasana is not the fourth pose!?? Dandasana is the 4th pose. please do not teach wrong yoga. I follow Bihar School of yoga & this is not Satyananda yoga.

We follow Satyananda/ Bihar yoga. In our tradition we follow like this. In first round right leg is back while coming back left comes first in other half left goes back and right comes first.
