In the beginning they were chanting "Swasti Vachan". It is a Vedic Chanting which is chanted as a well wish for someone. In Ramayanam when Lord Rama departed to Dandakaranya for exile, he first went to Mother Kaushalya for permission to depart. At that time his mother made Brahamanas perform Swasti Vachan for Lord Rama and gave him blessings in the form of Vishalyakarini.

Nearly 5000BC 36 yrs after Mahabharat war when it was time for Krishna to go back to Vaikuntha. There was massive floods through out earth. It raised oceans level upto several meters. Survivors of Original Dwarka created today's Dwarka.

Patanjali is actually not the source of yoga but he compiled the teachings of Yoga which has its origin in the Cosmic dance of Natraja(lord of Dance) another name for Shiva and teachings of Shiva/ Adiyogi to Saptarishis. so the Yoga is a means to experience the same bliss and ecstasy of Shiva's cosmic dance, by attaining our inner non-dual Shiva nature. Adi Shankaracharya put it beautifully when he was asked by his guru "who are you?" he replied- Chidananda Rupa Shivoham Shivoham-" I am blissful consciousness, I am Shiva, I am Shiva." Chidambaram is another name of Shiva in South which means pure consciousness whom Patanjali served to learn the teachings of Yoga. In the Vedas the origin and first mention of Yoga is found in The svetasvatar upanishad of YajurVeda. In ch 4 verse 18 it declares- When ignorance has disappeared, when there is neither day nor night, neither existence nor non-existence, then there is only Shiva, the all-blissful one, who is imperishable, the adorable light of Savita (the deity of the sun). From Him alone all the ancient wisdom has proceeded. He who knows Shiva, the blissful one, who is hidden in all beings in an extremely subtle form, finer than the essence of butter in milk, who alone envelops the universe, is freed from all fetters. No one can grasp Him above or across, or in the middle--Na Tasya Pratima Asti ---There is no likeness or equal of Him whose name is great glory.(4.19). Om Namah Shivaya. Jay Shri Krishna. Har Har Mahadeva.

You can also read Vijnana Bhairav which has 112 methods to attain highest realisation taught by lord Shiva to his consort mother Parvati. This was favourite book of Osho (he wrote a commentary on it - Book of Secrets) along with Shiva Sutras & Ashtavakra Gita. Sadhguru also mentions it a lot

Actually Ravana also gained knowledge of Ayurveda from Shiva and elaborated it in "Ravana Samhita" just like Patanjali. And Yoga that can even make humans immortal are elaborated by Nath yogis as well which also comes from Shiva, you can read it in "Navnath". Even Krishna Gained knowledge from Shiva written in Shiv Mahapurana. In short source of knowledge of everything( Dance, Music, Ayurveda etc.) is Shiva because he is unborn and eternal. I highly recommend you to read "Navnath".

Let me tell you about Dwarka since you asked. Dwarka city is a modern day coastal pilgrimage site of very high importance in the state of Gujarat in India. It is part of the original Dwarika of Sri Krishna. A large chunk of the Dwarika city was submerged due to the curse of Gandhari as mentioned in the Mahabharata. The settlement of the modern day Dwarika started to emerge after 2000 BC in the Chalcolithic period of Indian history. The settlement emerged on the ruins of the Old Dwarika of Sri Krishna. The sea exploration near the coast of Dwarika around 2010 led to the discovery of the ruins of an ancient fort city which many archaeologists connect to Sri Krishna’s original Dwarika. Dwarika is one of the holiest sites for Vaishnavites after Vrindavan. It has tons of ancient temples out of which the most famous is the Dwarikadhish temple. Inspite of the sacking and destruction of ancient temples by Islamic kings, many of the old structures still remain till date. There are many stories and legends which are connected with the temples in Dwarika including the ones how people sacrificed their life to save the deities of Krishna from the king’s armies. Many of the original deities in the temple still remain due to the clever thinking and sacrifice of the devotees. In many instances Sri Krishna appearing in the dreams of devotees and guiding them on future events and how to protect the deity. The town is filled with folklore. I have had the privilege to visit it and learn about it. Pleased to share my knowledge here.

Ananta Shesh (Balaram) himself is a bhakti yogi , he himself is serving Vishnu for eternity, So its a clear sign, bhakti Yoga is the highest form of yoga for God realization... For exploring spiritual journey we can practice many types of Yoga, but for exploration there is not specific destination or target - its just an exploration and it has no fix time... But Bhakti yoga is goal oriented target target oriented - direct ,straight to the target i.e. God realization... So for those who wants Spiritual Journey , other yogas will be beneficial.. But for God realization - Bhakti Yoga is the shortest way... No doubt... 🙏🙏

There are many stories of Patanjali, and this one is one of them. I would recommend reading raja yoga which is translated and commented by Swami Vivekanada (who wrote it based of his experience). Radhe Radhe 🙏

Dwarka is the capital city built by krishna which was submerged after Mahabharata it ia included in mahabhrata story, later sages and king 1000 of year later found out that dwarka is under water so they build another city named dwaraka which was adjacent to old dwarka. Then shankaracharya established dwarka and 4 other places as holy places and protector of 4 vedas. Scientist and mosern people made fun of it until 70s 80s archeologust found old dwarka adjacent to new dwarka Under seawater. Also not wasting energy is preserving sexual energy word "brahmcharya" is used here. Bhisma has this energy in mahabharata

Raj Yog (1896) , Karm Yog(1896), Gyana/Jnana (ज्ञान) yog (1899), Bhakti yog (1896) - Publisher - Ramkrishna Math (मठ) ... Quote by Chanakya (चाणक्य) - only reading (books) is of no use. Implementation of knowledge in course of life is important ( I am lagging in implementation part but trying my best.) Hope all the readers will keep this in mind

The core philosophy of Hinduism is ''Brahman' (not God) is everywhere, in every living being and non-living objects. Every human needs to use his/her ability to realise this reality that he/she and all others carry the same 'Brahman' within. (that's why Hindus worship everything). Ashtanga Yoga guides to gradually realise this truth of 'oneness with 'Brahman' (individual and the Absolute are the same) Life is a journey to realise the truth of oneness with the absolute (Brahman) through Karma Yoga, Gyaan Yoga & Bhakti Yoga. Perhaps Hinduism is the only religion on Earth that says, 'Soaham/Sohum/सो ऽहम्' (that (brahman/God) is I) & "tat tvam asi' (“I am that ") No wonder Hindus can be atheists as there are schools of Hindu philosophy that do not hesitate to question the concept of a specific God or Gods. Because, at its core, Hinduism is not a religion. It is all about a spiritual journey towards self-realisation. Therefore, contrary to a specific set of religious principles, you will find many contradicting philosophies.
