I obviously only have a very limited sample of Lewis' life, but the interrupting and other things kind of make me wonder if he might have ADHD. I have relatively mild ADHD, and I feel like I see parallels between my symptoms and Lewis, but of course it's possible I'm just seeing patterns that don't exist lol

Is there something wrong with defending your hard work from people who want to exploit you? Also the white and black doll thing there's a South Park episode about that, for those who didn't see it . The kids saw the black and white figures as good against evil while all the adults saw each as a different race.

Pyrion's take on the little Red Hen was so unbelievably bad. She didn't want to share with the other animals because when she asked for help sewing, reaping, and grinding the wheat, none of the other animals wanted to help. Then all of a sudden she had a loaf of bread and they all want to eat it. Moral of the story is to pull your own weight, and you can't expect people to do everything for you if you don't help yourself or society in some way either. It's to value hard and honest work, it doesnt make any statements about capitalism or anything. Pyrion seems a little paranoid at times.

Problem with american politics is that they cannot implement policies in balanced manner, one side goes too far and than the other one overreacts and goes too far the other way. I think it is important to carefully consider all points and make balanced decisions considering all opinions and making compromises to not upset opposing views too much. When consuming american mainstream media you have to be aware that they are spinning any story so it fits their agenda.

Masterchef USA and Hells Kitchen USA always spoiled the winner of their show with the intro credits or the next time on insert show name or the show recap from the ad break. One season they showed the door the winner would walk out of on the intro credits so on the second to last show they showed what contestant was behind each door which ruined the finale as you knew the winner walked out of door no2

Listening to these Dads talk about this kind of thing is really weird to me as an American. (Note this is not a critic but an observation) I've always heard that there was a cultural divide between America and the rest of the world but this kind of sums it all up in one podcast lol. Firstly, I didn't really see any issue with the red hen story, guess that is just a cultural difference, in America (though there are some niche communities with loud voices) capitalism is still seen as the best system. Second, I live in a pretty liberal state, but I've never heard anyone have so many issues with older children's books. I've never heard of anyone ever actually checking books before hand to see if they're problematic, that just seems crazy to me.

@@Usmodlover I mean maybe it depends on where you are in the country but not gonna lie, I see a lot of anti-capitalist stuff on reddit and Twitter but I don't know anyone who actually feels that way irl. Pretty sure it's mostly either terminally online people or just the online echo chamber. Like I said I live in a fairly liberal state so I would have guess I'd have met a ton of people who feel the way you describe but I don't. Most of the younger people I know are embracing capitalism and trying to make as much cash as possible using the stock market tbh
@mullisb4302 жыл бұрын
@@Usmodlover I mean no disrespect but I don’t believe so. I think you're reading a bit too much into 'The Little Red Hen' PFlax XD You can definitely interpret the story your way based on modern hot button issues, but the moral of the story isn't 'don't share' or 'poor people just need to try harder'. The moral is that you should help others if you can-And if you don't bother to help them when they need your help, don't be suprised if they don't help you. Also 'Don't expect to profit from the work of others'. You could just as easily interpret the story as the hen representing the workers and the other animals representing the parasitic 'elite' of society who contribute little but expect to share in the fruits of the labour of the workers-Particularly as she's 'The Little RED Hen'-Clearly a commie ;)

> It's super conservative to think that all unemployed people are just lazy hang-abouts As in all things, every individual case should be looked at specifically and it's dangerous to generalize everyone. I certainly know "poor" people, on social welfare, that are lazy and only wish to take as much as they can, having absolutely no desire to be productive. Is this everyone? Of course not! The thing about childrens books is that they only have like 10 pages and 30 words to tell a story. They have to generalize people and situations.

All the wage-slave consumer units think that everyone should suffer like them, and waste their life filling the elite's pockets doing a meaningless, pointless, empty, soul destroying jobs. If it wasn't true, everything would be made by robots by now. Think of all the non-productive middle men jobs that just exist to extract money from consumers for no benefit, lawyers, marketing, estate agents, telesales, the list is endless.

Younger liberals don’t have kids, conservatives of all age groups do. I don’t see the problem with conservative parents going through books that their kids are reading in school and dictating which ones should be there. It’s kinda weird for young people on the left, those who virtually have no children as a whole, to be up in arms over concerned parents looking into what their schools are doing. Keep in mind these conservative parents have been fed propaganda, which may or may not be true, about money flowing into schools that teach a certain view of the world, which the parents may be opposed to. I don’t have kids, but I’d be very concerned with what my local schools are teaching today if I did.
