Yogyakarta, INDONESIA | Jalan Malioboro - The most famous street

Yogyakarta, Indonesia! Yogyakarta (or Jogja and Jogjakarta) is one of the most visited cities in Indonesia. And in this vlog, you'll see Jalan Malioboro, the most famous street in town, during the day and at night 😃. We start the walk 10 minutes north of Malioboro, at Tugu Yogyakarta (the monument), pass the train station, and then walk down the entire Malioboro street.
On Jalan Malioboro, we do some shopping and discover 2 important buildings: Gedung Agung (Indonesia's presidential palace) and Fort Vredeburg (former fort and now a museum). We later return to Malioboro street to enjoy the nightlife.
This trip to Indonesia was before the lockdown.

When I was in Yogyakarta in 2009, it was still mostly run down, there was little room to walk along the boards forming the footpath at JOGJA Markets. My friends wife's cousin Supri (RIP) lived west of JOGJA & was host, driver and tourist guide during the 3 day stay.

I have watched your travel vlogs from Japan all the way to Indonesia. In each trip, you really explained all of the informations thoroughly. How did you plan your trips? And more importantly, how did you research all of those informations? I noticed that there was no break between trips. So I wonder.... Happy to hear that! Thank you so much! Yeah, being a journalist certainly helps, and I also put a lot of time on planning. I start researching the country and the cities various months in advance, most of the time going through the destination's official websites, like "indonesia.travel" . Sometimes we also join guided tours to be able to talk to travel guides and ask questions. So it is a lot of work to prepare these videos 😂😂😂, but as a journalist, it's what I've always done, and I really love all the process ❤. Now, for example, we're already researching other cities in Indonesia, India and the USA. All at the same time 😂😂
