Just having good quality control doesn't mean you have the best product. I have the best quality control when I cook eggs cause I do it in my house, yet any IHOP will have much better tasting eggs than mine. It's amazing how brainwashed some simple factory tour video has made people.

@@drdickenbalz "It's amazing how brainwashed some simple factory tour video has made people." What do you even mean? Yonex *delivers* high quality as Jonas said in this video, many comments here, reddit, TWH or the comparison video from Tennis Spin. It's from experience with their actual racquets, the question to if they match your taste, boils down (lol) to personal preference anyway, but at least you really do get what you paid for...

@@Krischan04 Meeting specifications of a racket has nothing to do with the actual QUALITY of the racket. Yonex is just good at meeting the specs consistently. That doesn't mean they use better materials or have better technology in their rackets. There's nothing in Yonex rackets that makes them any higher quality than other leading rackets on the market. You bought into the marketing hype, that's all.

Another great video review. It does need to be said that Yonex frames hit/feel nothing like babolat so just because they have specific "families" for spin/control/power the specs/stiffness/feel are totally different. That being said in my opinion Yonex makes superior frames to all the others on the market right now and the only others in their league are the Wilson RF97 and Ultra tour. Everything else these days is shadow tech and nothing like the amazing frames of the late 90's & early 2000's. (Angell doesn't count I'm only referencing the mass market brands)

Yonex has by far the best quality control, and all lines except for their beginner racquets (Astrel) are made in Japan. The best thing about Yonex's quality control is knowing if you buy a second or third racquet off the shelf the specs will be very similar, unlike Wilson where two of the same racquets off the shelf could feel completely different (balance, weight, balance weight). Only complain with Yonex I have is the bottom of the grip, there is not enough buttcap flare.

I picked up the ezone 98 tour recently and on the first hit with nrg2 at 55#, I found it hella stiff causing forearm/wrist fatigue/soreness, even with a multi. Once it broke it coming down probably 50# and below, it was nice. I think it can still use a bit of weight in the handle to improve the HLness, but otherwise awesome racquet now that I'm adjusting. Not gonna go above 50# on the next string job for sure...

Nice coverage of the 2021 YONEX line. A great company with the best quality control in the entire industry by far. One caveat for you guys considering the new VCORE 95. The RA of 64 is misleading and you WILL be disappointed if you are looking for true 64-65 RA as a replacement for the now discontinued SV 95. This 2021 95 is more stable and appears to ramp up the control factor when compared to the 2018 version though. What' happened here is that the 64 RA applies in the top of the frame but by the time you get to the throat it plays more like a 62 RA. So the playing character is still fairly flexy just more stable and with a touch greater control. If you are looking for a true 64-65+ RA in a 95 inch form factor this is definitely not it. There is a gaping hole in the YONEX lineup. They would do well to develop an EZONE based 95 inch frame with a 16x20 string pattern. This design would retain most of the control of the 2021 VCORE 95 combined with the firepower that is typical of a true 64-65 RA.

Vcore 95 is a" babolat like" but in 95 with a think beam and more flex , it s a very particular feeling . The Pro staff is more solid , the prestige has a butter feel and is very sweet . Vcore 95 is more agressive but still very control and offer a better manuvarability.

I find the Ezone 98 Tour a good racket. But after trying for 6 months I can't really get used to it. First, its muted to me at tension at 54. At 52 its even more muted. Def good for those with acute elbow issues. There is no easy power instead one really must have a good consistent fully swing to harness the racket. I am back to my Pure Aero Tour for easy power and more noticeable spin. The Ezone gives more flat shots. Don't get me wrong the Ezones are good rackets and in the hands of a player with good technique, the racket is a good choice.

Ignore the hate. The pure drive has been a very successful racket at all levels, right to the top of the pro game. If someone doesn't like it, it just doesn't fit their game and for some reason that seems to annoy people. Anyway, as for what works best with a pure drive, well, that's ultimately up to what pairs well with how you use it. Get two or more pure drives, ideally matched spec wise, and experiment! I currently use a pure drive that weighs 328g unstrung with a strung swing weight of 343. I use a full bed of Signum Pro Firestorm at 51lbs. This setup pairs perfectly with my heavy game. It's rather essential though to generate good rpms to control the power of such a setup, so not one for flat hitters.
Is your racquet too heavy?
