Yong heng compressor pcp problem, faulty motor!

Only used 3 times,at ten minutes a time, I changed the oil after each run!!! It’s not the start/run capacitor or the relay or any of the wiring to the motor there’s a problem with the motor

Hi David Lee, thanks for your comment, very good advice there, but it’s a problem with the motor, if I leave it on for more than 5 seconds smoke starts coming from the windings! The pump turns freely by hand, they are supposed to be sending me a new replacement motor they’ve taken me through different tests and agree it’s a faulty motor, but we’ll see if one turns up, I’ll most certainly keep you updated, they seem like good people and always get back to me but we’ll see

@@mja9700 their is a few companies in the states that ship these, I got mine from California in about a week. How ever you need to hook up the water pump or you will have same problem as this DUMB ASS did with it locking up.

Rob Withman air venturi now came with new pump it’s also made in USA 🇺🇸. Just around $650.00 and plugs 🔌 in ac/dc you can take it with you using your car battery. Have you seen it? It’s called NOMAD.

@@mja9700 Ya I seen it but my Yong Hang I paid $ 200 for, I got this as a start up for PCPs, I may try to save up on something better but I live on a small income. Bad enough my PCP cost me $ 700. Thanks for the info.

Hi bern7918, thanks for your comment!yes I’ve tried it in different sockets, it’s not a lack of power there’s a problem in the windings somewhere, if I switch it on for more than 5 seconds smoke starts coming from the windings and I’m sure it would catch fire if left on any longer

If the shaft doesn't move the power heats the windings and the wire will heat, discolor and burn the insulation. Smoke and smell will eventually trip the breaker or it will cause a fire or an open circuit. Motor should be replaced and all connected running parts checked

The capacitor is like a battery, it holds a charge and discharges. Be careful it packs a wallop. Do not touch the bare wires. Disconnect the power, cut one wire and then the other wire. Replace with new one about ten bucks or wait until you have installed a new motor. It either works or it needs replacing.

Try plugging to a different outlet. Maybe the outlet you are plugging to is connected to other appliances and does not have enough power. That happened to my Yong Heng and will not work. So I tried it to another outlet and is running well now.

Oops - put this in a reply below by mistake... Try removing the 4 screws at the base of the 2nd stage cylinder and taking the cylinder off then run the motor with that stage completely off so you are only working the 1st stage piston. You might have carbon deposits on the 2nd stage piston which are causing stiction there. If so, wipe any deposits off the piston andsemi-metal seals and put the 2nd stage cylinder back on, turning the fan by hand while tightening up the base screws so the cylinder gets centered on the piston. Those 2nd stage semi-metal rings need to wear in, and they deposit carbon until they are properly worn. At least, that's what worked for mine. Good luck.

Só pra ajudar as pessoas que estão pesquisando.provavelmente foi o capacitor que baixou sua capacitãncia dando um pico de energia fazendo com que o motor entrasse em um pequeno curto circuito queimando um filamento do cobre da bobina de partida .se for o caso .o capacitor deve ser substituido e o fio de cobre da bobina de partida que se rompeu devido o curto circuito deve ser emendado e isolado.thank you bro.

Hello there mines buzzing still even with new motor any ideas please ive stripped it all so it will run light but just buzzes the odd time will kick in but rare and motor is red hot after flicking swtich

If it is a capacitor problem, what are the signs should I look for? I have a problem like your but my does pump if the second stage pump is taking off. It seems as it can’t handle high pressure. The seller partial refund for it, now I have a half working pump that couldn’t really do anything.

abbeyglencircle if it’s a capacitor problem it won’t start at all, it’ll just hum! It could be you haven’t got enough power from your outlet, or is it on an extension lead? Try plugging it straight into an outlet close to where the power comes into your house and see if that helps!

I think the Yong Heng compressor are worth 300 but that is about where I'd draw the line on value as the biggest cost is the motor. Mass produced with machined aluminum, no bearing on the crank end highlights where the value for 300 dollars ends but that's just my personal opinion. They should check the running before shipping and not leave it to the buyers to find it doesn't work after it arrives.

WARNING: Please check you compressor case at the base of the cylinder for cracks. I had a Young Heng compressor rated for 300 bars (4250 PSI), I used this compressor to top of my air tanks to 300 bar which my air rifle requires. The crank case where the compressor cylinders attach fail and exploded throwing the pistons and case framents flying. The rupture disk did not fail. The air pressur reached 4,250 PSI as I reached to open the pressure blow down valve and close the air tank valve the explosion occured. The machine oil level was check before running, the water circulation was checked and found acceptable. In addition I was montering the machine running temp. and was at 57C to 60C all item were in the acceptable perimeter as specified by Young Heng manual. I used this unit for a year about every two weeks. In my oppion the aluminum case is to thin and cannot stand up to the stresses caused with frequent use.

Mine did the same thing, started with a hairline crack at the base of the head with small leak of oil. Then all of a sudden it exploded, large chunck of the case came off. I have 3 yong hengs so I have parts, just cant figure how to remove the flywheel and swap cases.

joel rolls hi Joel, sounds like it’s not electrical, but more like mechanical if you had trouble turning the fan by hand! I’ve heard of people having carbon build up on the second stage piston to the point of it locking it up, if that’s the case you would have to take the top off and clean it, or it could be low oil level? The reset button will only need resetting if the windings of the motor overheat, if that happens it won’t buzz at all it will break the circuit to protect the windings, you can then push it to reset it after it’s cooled down (probably half an hour or so) I don’t know how long you’ve been running your compressor but I would recommend changing the oil especially as it has locked up, the aluminium Conrod relies on good clean oil as it runs directly on the steel crank, there’s no inserted bearing bronze! Hope you get it running reliably ;0)

J'utilise le compresseur par 25 minutes au maximum et température maximum 44° celcius. Au début mon huile était 5w-50w puis j'ai mis de l'huile pour compresseur. Mais la couleur de l'huile est toujours très foncée. Je ne sais plus quelle huile prendre. Je fais très attention et surveille toujours le compresseur. La dernière fois, j'ai entendu le moteur tourner avec moins de bruit et j'ai immédiatement arrêté. J'ai attendu et ensuite j'ai eu le même son que vous. J'ai démonté le carter devant et à la main impossible de bouger la bielle. J'ai réussi à bouger en force de quelques millimètres et ensuite tout à refonctionner normalement ! Depuis j'ai réussi à utiliser sans problème le compresseur. Vous dites que le bruit n'est pas un bruit du moteur électrique ? D'où vient le carbone au 2eme étage ? joel rolls Hi Joel, sounds like your doing everything right, but the oil they recommend is #46 Anti-Wear Hydraulic oil, the buzzing noise is electric but it’s buzzing because the rotor is locked by what sounds like a seizure from what you described! You managed to free it off by hand but the crank will probably have “picked up” some aluminium from the con rod ? If so the chances are it will happen again shortly!!! If you go to the “Airgun Nation” Forum and look under “Air Tanks, Pumps & Compressors” you’ll find a wealth of information on the problems and fixes people are having with these Compressors, somewhere in there you’ll find a thread where someone strips the second stage to clean the piston of built up carbon. sambo cotton merci I tryed to search Tuxing in the airgun forum but no luck Only double cylinder tuxing, hatsan etc.. My french airgun forum has choice Tuxing txes022 with auto stop. They are only 2 or 3 people who has the oil black. The others have somes problem but the oil is clear. The chineeze said nothing about oil They said car ´s oil I will try to find 46 oil ... I am afraid to umount the compressor head. Last time i take-off the front carter and grrrrrrrr about the black seal lol

joel rolls Hahaha, yes the black rubber cover!!!!! I had lots of fun trying to replace that, once you take it off the damned thing shrinks and is a hell of a job to get back on 🤨😡 the top cylinder is not so bad though once you undo all the pipes, ah I’ve just remembered yours is a different make so I’m afraid I don’t know about that one? I’ve not had a problem with the oil going black, it does go darker but never black but I haven’t run it much and I’ve changed it same as you every couple of times! If it were me, I would try the # 46 Anti-Ware Hydraulic oil and see if that helps, that’s what they recommend for the Yong heng and the bottom end looks just the same with a different head. joel rolls hi Joel, I got on to the ebay store where I got it from (wankedastore) and they asked me to carry out some tests which I did, this video is one of the things they asked for, after carrying out all the tests, they agreed the motor was faulty and sent me a new one! Nice to know they stand behind their product, they always got right back to me and we’re very polite, good to know there’s still some honest people out there ;0)
