Hi Sam, Really appreciate your fine workmanship and knowledge in the rebuild - a true craftsman!! I hooked up a desiccant canister on the low pressure intake side using a bit of surgical latex hose into a sealed canister. I used the filter fitting on the end of the hose. This keeps the moisture (most of it) out of the pump and lessens the water buildup inside the pump. The dessicant canister draws in air from the bottom, most of the canister is duck-taped from the top to within a inch of the bottom. The desiccant canister can be bought at a gun store. They’re intended for a gun safe. All you’ll see on the cigarette filter is oil. No more water. Makes sense to prevent the water from entering in the first place.

Definitely room for improvement on these machines. It wouldn't be hard to adapt them to a V-twin design which might take some of the pressure off a single piston head setup, being able to spread it between "2 pistons"; also wonder why they decided to run it at full RPM, as opposed to using a reduction gear or pulley. a pulley/belt system to slow the pump down would help these things I would think (while also providing more torque). You could just take half that charcoal out of that filter and fill it half micro sieve and half charcoal, separated by a single small thin cotton element, instead of buying a whole separate tube/adding a stage.

Glenn Newell I don’t remember saying I love it Glenn 😆😆😆 I’ve had some serious grief with mine, and if I hadn’t have noticed the high pressure piston was slightly hitting the head ( I machined about 15 thou off it ) it would have punched a hole in the first stage piston as well as buggering itself up, which has happened to a lot of people I believe! Every time I use it I’ve got a constant adrenaline rush wondering what oriental surprise I’m going to have to deal with next (300 bar scares the shit outta me) 😳 but having said that, as long as you don’t mind getting the spanners out, and your only even half mechanically minded, and change the oil regularly, it pumps air fast and sure beats paying someone £10 a time to fill your bottle up to only about 270 bar! Good luck, All the best!!!

Sambo, Do you put anything on the threads on the high side hose connecting to the housing? Mine came with a seal in it and once I tighten it down to snug it does not pass air. From the look of your videos it looks like you do not have the seal inside
@sambocotton5868
@sambocotton5868 5 жыл бұрын
Travis Masterson Hi Travis, I don’t put anything on the threads, there’s a small white nylon looking seal in the outlet block that seals the outlet hose! If it’s not passing air you’ve done it up too tight and crushed the small hole, I’ve done the same thing myself ;0) All the best!!!!!

Eumel Lopez Hi Eumel, no I’m not on that I’m afraid, can you make a KZbin video of it? I’m sure other people would be very interested in it as well. I think it also needs a valve that only opens when it reaches a pressure of 3000 psi to keep the towers pressurised before they start to fill the bottle, then the filters have a much better chance to clean the air. Thank you ;0)

@@sambocotton5868 Hi S C great videos. I'm just getting started with the filter side of things. I think you'll find that with one way valve in line you open your part filled bottle valve/tap the one way will hold back air from tank then as soon as your compressor side builds up to equal pressure the valve will open and let air into bottle, as soon as you reach required pressure just open bleed screws on compressor and shut down as usual. The one way valve will hold air on bottle side until you close bottle valve/tap then bleed air from line and your done. By the way I was impressed with your assistants knowledge of what is being done. Cheers I look forward to some more info when you make it.

Wino Kitty Hi wino, I didn’t make the filter towers, I got them off eBay, I made the base out of aluminium chequer plate, and since doing this video I’ve made it into a clamp to hold them tight as I don’t trust the loose threads on the end caps as their excessively loose and they would blow your head off if they ever decided to strip 😳

@@sambocotton5868 Thx for the reply and link. Not sure about the loose thds. I might be mistaking since I can't see them, but they could be NPT/NPS pipe threads that are designed for higher loads in one direction. The o-rings help to cinch up the threads besides serving as a seal since the pipe threads are not sealed in this case like they normally are in pipe aps with pipe dope or now, teflon tape.

@@AquaTech225 There is a big difference between the surface that hardened piston rings can run on and the surface that soft seals can run on not forgetting that there is no lubrication in the upper cylinder on a Yong Heng compressor. the lower cylinder is lubricated from the crank case.

Nice clear video but your dialogue seems to be incomprehensible, just for me I guess, as me being an American English speaker from the Philippines but now living here in Switzerland. Btw, if I may suggest, if you might want to add an oil additive( Moly-Slip or equivalent, for me I've been using Per-tua for my car engine and it helps) for the lubricant. I also use Per-tua to lubricate the slide/ frame of my real guns and it really makes a difference. It will add additional slide on the racker arm and the piston too to minimize friction , thereby, reducing the heat and wear of the aforementioned. Just my honest opinion. It would also be more informative to the air gun community world, especially, those using the same type of hpa compressor if you could make more follow-up videos after several sessions on your charging throwing your personal observations and experiences. I know in one of your videos you provided the link for the out put air/oil filters and I am in such a loss which episode. So please provide them in you reply. My best regards and good luck! p.s. Try searching in KZbin regarding Per-Tua and if it's also available in your country since it is much cheaper than Moly-Slip.
