I think a good thing would be to cut few sections either side of main cover and mesh over with tac welds to vent motor more ill try anyways

hi that little bit of moving in the piston you had seen is from the connecting rod you have a little wear some were or bearing in rod is going out. It will run but its not going to get better with out some new parts.

A nice lengthy review Gov however if the wingnuts took as much time as you to assemble the pump, it would end up costing a thousand quid.

Any idea what the discharge pressure of the first stage of compression is? How many psi? I would love to add a cooling radiator between the first and second stage but that would depend on the pressure generated by the first stage of compression. I know it will vary and increase in accordance with the final stage's output.

spiro revelis hi spiro, if you go to “Airgun Nation” which is a great forum for anything airgun related and look under “Air tanks,Pumps & Compressors” prfssrlee has started a thread called “ Some Additional YH Information” and he puts a digital pressure gauge on the low side and got a reading of 155 - 158 psi, check it out! spiro revelis Your welcome Spiro, I’m pleased you liked it, it was just a last minute thought to video it as I couldn’t find anything on KZbin myself, if I’d have thought about it better I would have stripped the top part of the head to show what’s inside as well! sambo cotton Actually.....I am a refrigeration technician with an engineering background. I'm going to go a bit overboard. (Only because I can) I am going to use the young heng like a booster and modify the compression ratios. I will create a slight inlet pressure of maybe 5-10 psi only. This will modify the first to second stage compression ratios and bring it down. I am worried about the very high compression ratios on the high stage piston. I will create a refrigerated chiller for the liquid cooling but I will also use refrigerant to sub cool the inlet air to the compressor in a tube in tube heat exchanger. I have yet to decide if I will cool the interstage discharge from the first piston with an air cooled radiator or another tube in tube counterflow direct expansion refrigerant heat exchanger. It is all possible now that I know the interstage pressure falls within the range of thick wall copper tubing. Thanks to you!!! You saved me a lot of time in test trials. I mention all this because I can tell you are very smart and understand it all. Thank you so much for sharing. I will keep you posted.

I have a spare water cooler for my tig welder, I’ve been thinking of trying that for cooling the head, but it’s quite big and noisy and behind a tun of stuff in my workshop so maybe one day ;0)
