your camera has a designated button for flash compensation. there is no reason for you to go in to the camera menu. (is doubles as your ISO button). press it and turn the dial..

Lovely informative video. I have a Canon 500d & Youngnou 568exii ETTL speed lite. I want to use the speed lite off camera. Do I need 2 of yn622c or one yn622c & a yn622 tx also ?

Hey thank you! I sold these and use Cactus triggers. I believe one yn622c tx will fire two flashes each having a yn622 transceivers. But your 568exii may receive trigger on its own. Keep researching as I'm not 100% sure sorry.

22:20, when you put them on S1 they are firing optically when the first flash goes off, not because of the upper trigger !

can you tell me what the actual max sync speed you get with these? i have the 602's and i get 2nd curtain shadows appearing consistently at 1/200th, and a little fringing at 1/160th occasionally. I'm trying to determine if it's a delay with the flash or a the trigger being slow?

You can use the "Q" button to quickly change FEC. You can also set the "Set" button to adjust FEC with ONE push. That's why they include an instruction manual with the camera.

The bit at the end was interesting, but I think that S1 is for optical slave mode, no? I think to test the Cactus triggers you should have left the Yongnuo flashes on master, as if they were on top of a camera.

Hi Damian, I think u set the 2 yongnuo flashes to slave mode. Basically they would fire regardless u had them on ur cactus or not. I use the 622 to fire my 430ex and put the yongnuo flash on slave so that both fires. I might be wrong but just check

Make a custom menu for your flash and any normally used modes. I never used custom until I started dealing which flash on a serious level.

@@Herkulez1981 You can use the built-in pulse from camera to flash if it's relatively line of sight. Lot of speedlights these days have triggers built-in. I like the triggers that go on camera where you can set the output of each flash remotely.

Pretty sure 622Cs only operate (fire their flash) in slave mode. And you can't mix the RT signal from the ST E3 RT or 600EX RT with these. You pretty much need one on camera and one per eTTL flash. Yongnuo is coming out with an on-camera controller for the 622Cs with a display. It's out for Nikon and will be out "Soon" for Canon. Hope that helps.

@TPTV Read this from another review does this help? Yes, it is enabled by default. If your flash doesn’t support HSS then the maximum sync speed is 1/250s or less, depending on your camera. There is also a mode called ‘Super Sync’ for manual flashes with long durations (e.g. studio heads). Set your camera to HSS mode and plug the flash into the receiver’s PC sync port. Yongnuo warns that Super Sync results may vary depending on your camera and flash combination.

For Canon flash guns. Only acts as a basic trigger on studio flash units. Read the instructions.

Thanks for this video Damian after watching it I went and I got myself two of these Yongnuo 622 ETTL triggers but the Nikon version "622N" and a YN-622N-TX, with the TX unit I can use one of the YN-622N units to trigger the camera , must say I love this set up its great value , anyone thinking of getting these bits of kit do it they are great ! . thanks again Damian for pointing me in the right direction :) all the best dude !

When you say that you have to go back into the menu each time, can you not change the power of the flash from the top lcd screen using the flash exposure compensation? - if not it does suck that you have to go through all the menu again (unless you put the flash function settings into 'my menu' ?

I used this on my Canon 5d Classic (back up camera), and it only works in AUTO and the CUSTOM mode.

Read instructions. 5D is not type A camera and has no flash menu built in as do other newer models.

@TetradOpus I'm using Eneloop rechargeables, but supposedly you get a slight more power output from regular AAs. But I've been happy with the Eneloops. They drain slower than others. But I tend to charge all my batteries the day before a shoot. Most flashes have a power adapter to connect a power pack to if you're shooting a long time.

If you use a 602 to fire the shutter you also need one on your hot shoe. Think about it. You not want the flash going off before the shutter has opened, so with one flash you need 3 triggers. I have the same set up but have since also got the 622 system to change settings.

what's up buddy I have a small problem I tried to research didn't find any answers maybe you can help...I have the yongnuo 602 trigs they work, but only when I try to use my wireless shutter trigger with my yongnuo 560 flash that's when the problem starts I tried to create a low key photo of myself when I tried to take the pic the flash was late maybe the flash was delayed or trigger being slow...I NEED HELP PLEASE LOL thx bud

Cesar Torres Thank you. Ya know there are 3 levels of triggers. Pure radio ($). ETTL where you set output via camera menu ($$), like these YNs. And triggers that have their own screen or switches to set output, which is way quicker ($$$$) Pixel King, Phottix Odin, Pocket Wizard. It doesn't take long moving through these to want the best/quickest and yeah, most expensive solution. I haven't used these YNs much because I haven't replaced my YN560IIs with ETTL flashes yet. But easier is usually more expensive with lots of things.

EZ-VFX The 560-III doesn't have ETTL, and the point of the 622c is to have output control via camera menu. You're better off with simple radio triggers. Now, will the 622c fire a non-ETTL flash without output control? I'm not sure, Google it.

EZ-VFX It may fire the flash only, at whatever output the flash is set on. I thought you needed ETTL to change the output level of your flash in camera. But perhaps I'm wrong on that. I'll look into it too.

Those are all ETTL flashes right? So they're saying in order to set output from camera you need ETTL but it will fire non EETL flashes, you just have to set output manually. I've only bought two of these 622c because I only own 1 ETTL flash and two YN-560II. I need to upgrade my two 560IIs to ETTL flashes before I buy another two 622c.
