York Predator RTU Main Control Board Problem and Troubleshooting

This York Predator RTU had a problem engaging first stage cooling during the maintenance. The main control board was only bringing on the 2nd stage compressor on a call for Y1. I traced the control circuit through the economizer board back to the main board during the troubleshooting process. These old York Predators are known for issues due to a negatively pressurized electrical panel that draws in water.

Strange design by York. Most of the controls compartments are no where near the airstream. Nice diagnosis.

Looks the wrong size filters in there. Those units are supposed to have little doors over the filter channels. More than likely some one grabbed the wrong size filters that were bigger and chucked the doors away

that control board was wired messy..to think its just a small one. i wire bigger main boards and it doesnt look like that..

Really throws you off when you replace the board and the new one is bad as well, I've had it happen once and I know other people that it happened to

I've had an issue on same unit where it stuck in free cooling mode, the plug that you disconnected from the top of the board is going to the left section of the unit where it plugs into 9wire plug and on the other side everything was disconnected and plug was jumped from econ in to econ out. Any idea why would someone do that? Thanks
