In this video, I'll show you the line width differences between the TWSBI #4, 5 and 6 nibs in all nib sizes from EF to 1.1mm Stub. Comparing with a COPIC Multiliner allows us to roughly approximate the line widths in millimeters for all the different nibs and we hope this video helps you choose which nib size will be the perfect one for your handwriting!

Great video! I love the level of detail you went into here One suggestion: if you had your line thinknesses on a transparency, you could use that to overlay over the pen lines to see what is the thinnest pre-measured line that would fully cover the pen line. It could standardize the control lines and reduce ambiguity as to which line it matches best (I’d recommended using a different color on the transparency and on the page)

Thanks for the video! I've been looking for a comparison of TWSBI nibs. I recently got a Vac Mini EF. After a very small learning curve I'm in love! With a more vertical writing posture I can get an ef line that rivals my pilot kakuno, but with a more relaxed posture and a bit of pressure I can get a line nearly as broad as my Lamy Safari with a B nib. This versatility is making it so perfect for my journaling as I enjoy switching between super small cursive and loose doodling pretty frequently. Great pen!

TWSBI use both Bock and Yowo nibs. It is a myth that all European nibs are always broader than Asian nibs. Even with Japanese nibs there is quite a difference between one manufacturers fine and that of another. I do wish manufacturers would quite line widths, but they can't as there is quite a bit of variation between nibs of the same manufacturer because of manufacturing tolerances. None of this detracts from your video which is great. Thanks.

Thanks for this! I understand what you mean when you say the TWSBI is consistent but, to me, if between lines from the same brand the same size nibs write different from each other, that's not consistent. Maybe Pilot and Platinum spoiled me by being so consistent between all their fountain pens (or at least the ones I tried), but it's what I expect from a consistent brand. I was told their gold nibs are a different story but it's a different material so I don't think it's fair to compare with the steel nibs.

your less than and greater than signs are backwards, think of the arrow as an alligator, the alligator always wants to eat the bigger number. So if u have x > y , the alligator wants to eat the x, therefore the sign means greater than; X (greather than) > Y. if you have X < Y , the alligator wants to eat the Y, because its bigger. so it would be X (less than) < Y. Also, you forgot the G in your cursive alphabet. Other then that, Thanks!
