I came all the way from Australia in 1996 to see Yosemite. I came in early winter and I can honestly say, that I was almost alone. It was almost a spiritual experience to take snow dusted roads deep into the valley. I witnessed the dawn and over two weeks walked the valley and also the country behind the big peaks and hidden valleys that only few people have been to. It is one of my most favourite places after 60 years of world travel. Before I die I plan to walk the John Muir trail. Anyone want to come with me?

Magnificent documentary thank you! I had the pleasure of being taken to Yosemite in 1997, loved every minute of my short time there. Had the amazing sight of a Coyote walk past me, it looked like a dog, but being from South Africa & knowing what they looked like I was in awe of its beauty! I wish I was able to return, but alas not to be! Love from me in South Africa❤❤❤❤❤❤

Wait. THE Kevin Kline did the narration? Didn't sound like him but top job non-the-less. Magical place. I hope to visit one day. ✌

On a more serious note: The commentary mention things like "last year" being the worst for wildfires, "the driest year on record", and other time references. The copyright on this film was 2017 - over half a decade ago. I think there've been several years with more and larger wildfires since then. Also, the park service says there are now (in 2024) 600 bighorn sheep in the park.

Anybody else notice the dumb kid with his point-and-shoot among the crowd of professional photographers at 49:31? The one with his camera flash going off? 😂

It's not a bad video, just a narrative is a bit dumb.
